Glyph Bio - These three rings were taken from an ancient Makluan starship by the Mandarin. Each one possesses extremely advanced alien technology that grants their wearer the ability to project a powerful Vortex Beam or create White Light and Black light. The Vortex beam can displace people or objects through space. The White Light is used to exponentially increase the affects of gravity which could force someone to fall down or off of a cliff, and the Black Light has the ability to create total darkness which could allow its wearer to escape.

I like this ring the most. Sounds like a blast to use with C3G Hulk + Knockback.

Cool one. I was a bit worried about the overall complexity on Mandarin, but I think each of these rings stays straightforward enough that, though he'll have a decent learning curve, he won't melt your brain to use.

I thought you might ask that. Well, it isn't necessary, and in fact, it would allow someone with double attack or with an attack bonding to use it on the fly. But the big reason why I did it is because Mandarin has 3 glyphs. One is static and always in play and one is activated "after taking a turn", while this one is before attacking. I think by having those last two "accessed" glyphs with a different opening line, it will help people manage the timing of their use a bit better.

I think that is just being a bit rules lawyery. I think it is clear, and there are some examples of expecting more from the readers, but here is the first one that sprung to mind.



Using this before rolling attack dice is the same as saying before attacking in terms of how you are concerned people will interpret things. I think it is best to expect more from our players than being a rules lawyery smart @ss and instead give them glyphs that have quick and easy text for reminding them which comes first - having one glyph that starts with "Before" and another that starts with "After", especially on a design with 3 Equipment Glyphs, I think this just really helps with that.

That glyph is a really weird example to bring up because it says you can use it before rolling attack dice, but it's power really triggers during the actual attack and there's no possible way to read it as triggering at any other time due to the actual effects of the power as spelled out in sentence #2.
These comparisons are apples and oranges, in my opinion.

Read this again and apply your same rules lawery logic.



If I can use it before rolling attack dice, then I can use it before moving or even on someone else's turn. Just like - If I can use the Electromagnetic Rings "before attacking", then I can use it before moving or even on someone else's turn.
