Re: The Book of Howard the Duck - Breathing
NAME = Howard the Duck
SECRET IDENTITY = Howard Duckson SPECIES = Duck UNIQUENESS = Unique Hero CLASS = Refugee PERSONALITY = Pessimistic SIZE/HEIGHT = Small 3 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 5 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 4 POINTS = 60 QUACK-FU FIGHTING! After attacking normally with Howard The Duck, if you roll at least 1 blank, you may place Howard on any empty space adjacent to the defending figure and attack that figure again. You may continue to attack the same figure with Quack-Fu Fighting until you have attacked four times or fail to roll a blank. TAG ALONG After a friendly figure that is not small or tiny moves normally, if that figure has the Super Strength special power and was adjacent to Howard the Duck during its movement, you may immediately place Howard on an empty space adjacent to that figure, if possible, ignoring any leaving engagement attacks. SMOKE BREAK While there are no Order Markers on this card, Howard the Duck may not make leaving engagement attacks or take turns and, if Howard would receive one or more wounds, ignore one of those wounds. If there are no Order Markers on this card and a Unique Hero you control is destroyed, move all unrevealed Order Markers from that Hero's Army Card to this card. Re: The Book of Howard the Duck - Breathing
One thing I'd like to see here if possible would be some sort of reason to draft him and Man-Thing together.

Re: The Book of Howard the Duck - Breathing
Something like this maybe?
TAG ALONG Before moving a friendly adjacent figure that is large or huge, if Howard the Duck is not engaged, you may choose that figure for Howard's Tag Along special power. After moving the chosen figure, you may place Howard on any unoccupied space adjacent to the chosen figure. |

Re: The Book of Howard the Duck - Breathing
What's his default build right now? Wonder Woman (III) Justice League? Guardians, I guess (Duck Refugee).
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: The Book of Howard the Duck - Breathing
Glad to see this guy finally here!
Feels kind of like Hit-Girl. Fragile but pretty potent if things are set up right. My only real comment is that this guy is primarily a brawler. Is that on-theme for him? I know he can fight, but you rarely see him doing so. Is there another part of his personality we can represent? |

Yeah, I'm feeling this take. I'm wondering if I should keep him in Fool Me Twice if his big thing is he's just good at fighting?

Re: The Book of Howard the Duck - Breathing
I'd go down to 5 Move.
I'd also cut the "attack at any point during movement" stuff from Master of Quack Fu. Pretty sure that's there as a riff on Shang-Chi's power, but I think it's extra complexity that Howard doesn't especially need. (And isn't super likely to use) |

Re: The Book of Howard the Duck - Breathing
I'd echo that this card should have a feeling of absurdity to it, when right now he just feels like a cookie cutter ninja type.
I've always considered something like this for his combat skills: QUACK FU! When attacking with Howard The Duck, if you roll at least 1 blank, you may place Howard on any empty space adjacent to the defending figure and attack that figure again. You may continue to attack the same figure with Quack Fu until you fail to roll a blank or the figure is destroyed. For me, this shows Howard having a very blustery fighting style that probably isn't particularly effective. I see him being very showy, slicing the air with knife hands and jumping around like Yoda, but since the movement and attack chain triggers on blanks, it ultimately doesn't do much damage. Of course, this could also mean that he isn't very fun to play. |
