Kung Lao draft

Highpoints
- IP is Mortal Kombat (DC)
- Strong hand to hand fighter
- Nifty hat that can do everything from be a returning thrown weapon to being a buzz or a decapitation tool
- His style seems to focus on fluidity, Shaolin fist uses fast combos that end in heavy strikes.
- The hat can rotate at high speeds in a variety of settings, used for lots of fatalities.

Highpoints
- Trying to recreate the iconic 1v1 (or lack thereof) in Mortal Kombat
- Places emphasis on unique heroes
- Introduces a stragetic choice as the beginning of the game
- Is useless in situations where the opponent doesn't have at least 2 unique heroes
- No one should be losing their best stuff in defense of Earthrealm unless they choose to
- Pay off is at its maximum if you finish the fight early in a round

The figure used for this unit is a Heroclix figure from the DC: Harley Quinn and the Gotham Girls set.
It's model number and name are #050/The Joker.

JOKER’S WILD or WILD CARDS

At the start of the game, after Order Markers are placed and before initiative is rolled, shuffle five Joker Cards of different types face down into a Deck. After rolling initiative, play the top card of your Joker Deck. At the end of the round, shuffle that card back into your Deck. Once per game, instead of playing the top card, you may search your Deck for a card and play it.

EXPLOSIVE PLAN
At the start of the game, you may choose up to two empty spaces on the battlefield that are not in a start zone. Place a Glyph of Time Bomb on each space, power-side up. At the start of any round after the first, you may choose to activate one Glyph of Time Bomb placed by this special power. Remove the other Glyph of Time Bomb from the game.

GENIUS ESCAPE
When Joker rolls defense dice against an opponent's normal attack:
• if at least 2 shields are rolled, Joker takes no damage and may immediately move up to 2 spaces. He will not take any leaving engagement attacks.
• if at least 2 skulls were rolled and the attacking figure is within 5 clear sight spaces of Joker, it receives one wound.
You may choose which effect to use first.
Joker Cards function as a counterpart to Batman's Utility belt.
Haven't brainstormed what their effects would be. A variety of powers of comparable strength, like Joker/chosen figure gets +1A/-1D.
Maybe even require Joker to have a "Punchline" card in the deck that says nothing but "HA HA HA" for no effect. Like when Joker's big threat turns out to be nothing but a prank.

@Ericth74 suggested the Time Bombs be Smilex Bombs instead, but that would require a new glyph. Some sort of blend between the Time Bomb and Harley Quinn's Special Attack or the Smilex Trap glyph. If we went that route, I'd probably rename the power EXPLOSIVE LAUGHTER or something.
Would be interesting, but it'll still be thematic reusing EXPLOSIVE PLAN as is.
Reminiscent of the Justice League episode "Wild Cards", the plot of the Arkham Origins game, or the boat scene from The Dark Knight movie.

It's cool. I wonder if the first and second power on the card don't muddle the feel of the card too much? I think I'd almost rather focus on the Joker cards and have the other powers be more light touch, rather than complicating his plan with the cards and a couple bombs.

But I guess a bizarre over the top plan *is* kind of his style.

C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

The way I see it, Joker sets up time sensitive situations that Batman has to diffuse. And Batman will have to jump through rings of fire and over crocodiles to do it. 
Originally I thought the glyphs could enter via a Joker Card, but because those get reshuffled and redrawn, it would require bringing too much hardware to play.

It'd be great to have a Joker use the Smilex, you could probably do some other cool Trap glyphs too and style it all that way.

I think I'd need to have a look at the Joker Cards themselves, but I think "too much hardware" is kind of my feeling about having the bombs and the deck of cards come in via the same character.

Maybe Joker cards could introduce glyphs, but if they do, the card gets removed from deck, essentially being Unique. That way, if you're forced to have the aforementioned Punchline card, you're more likely to draw it after using those cards, increasing the odds that Wild Cards does nothing each round.

Are other Joker cards posted somewhere. Interested.

Would I want it to be everything I love...sure...but that's just not realistic so I'm going to focus on finding things that will make me unhappy and work on fixing those.

I might be biased... but I love the concept of Joker Cards this really makes the design larger than life because of all the different things they could be. The narrative is just amazing.

I'll have to brainstorm a card or two. I'm thinking Joker nerve toxin could be a gas

Just a thought, but what if the Time Bomb markers were just used as indicator and triggers, but then the Joker Cards told you the type of bomb that goes off. Each would have a different type of effect.
