The SoV is the group that receives public designs and passes them through their processes and judgements, with the goal of accepting them as official-yet-unofficial Heroscape canon. For most of us here at Heroscapers.com, we accept this as an official extension of Heroscape. The C3V is the other half of this accepted extension. They are a group of respected designers that operate behind closed doors.

The SoV (and the C3V) have a strict process that keeps their released units at a standard that all of fanscape has come to expect. The first step in the process is nomination. Approval of a nominated unit means that the SoV are willing to review the design in depth.

Well, can't speak for the usual procedure or any of the other groups, but my method of joining C3G was:

1) Make a nuisance of myself for a year or three;
2) Get offered membership as an Ally;
3) Start testing;
4) ???
5) Profit

Playtest. Playtest, then do more playtests. That is the most valuable contribution you can make.
