Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
I couldn't bring myself to getting Clone Wars stuff, as my painting backlog is already high for the GCV stuff. It's been like forever since I've painted any trooper units, for Legion, as I've only painted the tank, Landspeeder and downed AT-ST over the past 6 months (though they did have trooper crews).
So much Rangers of Shadow Deep, Fallout Wasteland Warfare and terrain building and painting over the past several months. I'm going to have some time off between Christmas and New Years, so I plan to try to at least get started back painting some Legion stuff. After watching 3 episodes of The Mandalorian, I might start my Legion painting with Bobafet. We got Disney + a couple days ago. We'd gotten tired of paying overages with our cell phones, so we went unlimited data plan and that allows us to get a year of Disney + for free. With our daughters working and also going out a lot with their boyfriends, the data gets used a lot more now. Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
@Hahma
, yeah Ive been really loving the Mandalorian. I look at that show as how it would look like if they actually made Boba Fett do something it would probably look like that. Ill admit that Ive had doubts about picking up clone wars legion stuff. My painting backlog is also rediculous for lack of any more suitable terms available. Thats why I only started by picking up 1 starter set for now. At the moment only Legion and walking dead have been getting attention. We have had a few more Heroscape gridless games as well. My one brother really likes it. I have 1 brother and 1 brother in law who enjoy playing tabletop games. 2 of that same brother in laws kids also like to play. I have a niece from that same family that doesnt play much but have taught her to paint. She is 16 and now paints wonderfully. I have given her a handful of different minis and helped her base them for display. She has also painted a handful of minis of mine for me. The latest being a giant centipede monster. Its fun to hang out with her while painting. It was easy to get distracted with some of the other miniature games that hit the sales on black friday. Hence the 90 extra models for wrath of kings. But I think Ill probably just concentrate on Legion because I really like the gameplay and am a nut over star wars. I did pick up all the addon content for my fallout 4 game on the ps4. I had beat everything available on that game previously available. Overall I dont completely feel justified on getting the clone wars factions. It was an impulse buy. My brother and brother in law are excited to try them out though. The clones and b1 droids should be quick and easy paintjobs when they do show up. Im in the process of figuring out how to redesign my workshop so it has more surface space to craft and paint so me, my wife, and daughter can craft and paint things together. After that I should really be able to churn out painted minis.

Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
Some minis I've gotten painted lately.
Boba Fett for Legion A couple more settlers/scavengers for Fallout Piper from Fallout. She's a reporter from Diamond City in Fallout 4 I painted a few roaches from Mice and Mystics to be glowing radroaches for Fallout. I have 3 of them painted and 5 others that I will paint to be just regular radroaches. Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
Those are looking great
@Hahma
. I love those paint jobs. I just finished to large scalable rock outcrops to play with legion and other games. They were built with legion in mind though. They are the thicker 2 inch xps foam stacked up and sculpted with my scroll saw and hot wire cutter tool. I sealed them with a black brush on oil based paint my dad had given me from his shop. It worked well with my buildings so I used the rest of the can on these. I thinned it a little with mineral spirits to get it in all the cracks easier. I then used acrylics to get it to look like stone and will spray it with rustoleum matte clearcoat once its finished setting up. The oil based paint protects it from the aerosol that melts the foam. I got my count dooku assembled today. I also will have my first resin 3d printer arriving at my house by tuesday. I will have loads of fun making mods and such for legion and just a general fun use for novelty type minis as well that I wouldnt be able to buy or things I tried on my fdm printer that didnt work so well. My wife is awesome for ok ing it without a second thought. It only ran me 171 bucks with tax off of amazon prime. Ill be making a legion sized mandalorian mini and baby yoda. If I get it rolling and it works great im going to send you one for sure. I think I figured out how Ill vent the resin fumes from my shop but it will take some minor handywork construction. Very exciting. Ive been wanting one of these for some time now.

Those are cool cliffs
@TREX
. I woke up at 3:30 as one of the many times I woke up last night, and checked out the pictures you sent.
Glad you liked the minis I posted. They are fun to paint. I don't have a lot of time normally to paint, as I have to balance that with a lot of solo gaming I've been doing, between Fallout and Marvel Champions living card game. But I have some time off around the holidays and hope to get a decent amount painted (for me anyway ) Resin printer too huh? Re: Frostgrave, Halo Ground Command and other tabletop minis
Glad that you are doing well being self employed
@TREX
. None of my business with regards to if you have something setup for retirement, but it is important to start early. Even what you could make having an Etsy store could help if put into a retirement plan. Not to mention possible college planning for the kids.
Being 52 and my wife being 55, we know that the closer you get to retirement, the more you realize the importance of having a 401 or other retirement plan. And, since both my daughters are going to be starting college in 2021, it comes quicker than you think, and any little bit we can do to help them is that much less burden for them. Then of course there are the cars, insurance, phones etc they need as teens.
