Starship Troopers 3

I was at Moviestop today (partner to Gamestop) and they had an add up indicating Starship Troopers 3: Maurder will up for sale on Aug 5th for $19.95. Apparently it's cheaper if you pre-order.

Whhoooooot. I really liked SST1 and Roughneck Chronicles so I'm rather jazzed about this new movie.

It helps that there's a SST game to fuel those fires.

Ok, now, look at me.

Re: Starship Troopers 3

Yes, but 2 was so awful that I wonder if 3 can redeem the franchise.

I just got Roughnecks at half price books for $12.24 with 50% off coupon. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it ends.

I wish I could afford the minis game, because it looks cool.

yes 2 SUCKED! 3 looks a little better though, couse its action like 1 and not a teen horror flick for jocks like 2. lol.

I'm agreeing with you here Templar. In fact the whole point of the first film at least was to mock the book by Heinlein, which I loved.

Re: Starship Troopers 3

The first one rocked the second one was less than a B movie. The new one has most of the original cast so here is hoping it will be awsome.

Re: Starship Troopers 3

I liked the MI vs. bug combat in the first movie but (old fogey alert) I could do without all the lopped off limbs, probed heads and such. I just find that type of gratuitous gore a sad detriment to the real action of thousands of troopers and bugs jockeying around the battlefield.

Re: Starship Troopers 3

I liked the first one, although it was such a PC chop job of the book (one of my favorites).

SST 2 was worthy of being de-rezzed and recorded over.

Re: Starship Troopers 3

*shrug* To each their own. I'm pretty sure each of us likes something the other doesn't. If we all agreed on liking the same thing, I'd be worried.

That doesn't detract from the fact that I'm still jazzed about this movie coming out.

I'm sure Zim would agree with me.

Re: Starship Troopers 3

I did like the first movie but it was no where near top notch for what else is out there. I caught parts of the second one and it was indeed horrible.

The first one turned alot of other people off because the book was outstanding and it butchered the book. But as far as an action flick goes, the first movie passed.

Re: Starship Troopers 3

The original is one of my favorites of all time. The deathly serious/satirical tone throughout the movie is hilarious to me, time and time again. The action is pretty rad, too. I haven't seen any of the sequels, though.
