INTERCEPTOR STRIKE
Immediately after placing any member of the Interceptor Crew on the battlefield through Interceptor Nav Computer, if Green Lantern is still on this card, you may roll one unblockable attack die against any figure within 5 spaces of that member of the Interceptor Crew. When Green Lantern uses Interceptor Strike, she may use her Interceptor Strike one additional time.

Damage inflicted through normal attacks: 2 wounds on Atrocitus.
Figures placed through Interceptor Nav Computer: Kilowog Round One Turn Four, Razer Round One Turn Six
Initiative rolls swung with Interceptor Nav Computer: Round Two
D20 rolls swung with Logical Computation: Fearless Charge once, Righteous Rage once.
Damage inflicted through Interceptor Strike: 2 wounds on Dex-Starr
The Interceptor Crew is Hal, Kilowog, Aya and Razer. Hal is already planet-side - the rest are aboard the Interceptor.
Round One
The Red Lantern Armada claims the initiative, and Bleez flies forwards.
Hal flies forwards and blasts Bleez at range, inflicting a wound.
Atrocitus flies forwards, and Dex-Starr follows him.
Kilowog swoops down from the Interceptor, engaging Bleez as the Interceptor’s guns target Atrocitus and Dex-Starr, inflicting a wound on the cat. Kilowog burns a marker to inspire Hal and Aya. He smashes Bleez with a hammer, inflicting a wound and sending her flying into Atrocitus, the impact inflicting a wound on each of them.
Atrocitus flies up to Kilowog, and Dex-Starr follows behind, while still sticking close to Bleez. Atrocitus strikes Kilowog, inflicting two wounds, and prompting Rankorr to advance, blasting Kilowog to no avail.
Razer swoops down from the Interceptor next to Kilowog, as Aya’s guns blast Dex-Starr for a wound. He himself blasts Atrocitus, inflicting two wounds.
Round Two
The Interceptor Crew claim the initiative thanks to Aya’s computations aboard the Interceptor. Kilowog forms a shield construct to defend himself from Atrocitus as he burns a marker to inspire his Green Lanterns. He strikes Atrocitus, but Atrocitus resists him.
Atrocitus powers through Kilowog’s shield, inflicting only a single wound regardless. Bleez steals a marker from Dex-Starr before flying up to Razer, Dex-Starr following and standing beside both Razer and Kilowog. Bleez strikes Razer, inflicting two wounds and knocking him two spaces backwards.
Aya swoops down from the Interceptor and blasts Atrocitus from high ground. She inflicts a wound.
Atrocitus strikes Kilowog, who shockingly blocks his blow.
Hal forms a decoy next to Atrocitus before charging Atrocitus himself, striking in melee. His first blow is shockingly weak - only a single skull on nine dice! - and easily blocked... however, thanks to Aya’s computations, Fearless Charge is triggered (turning a 14 to an 1 and he strikes again, inflicting three wounds on Atrocitus - enough to kill him, but Atrocitus transfers one of them to Dex-Starr. He strikes a third time, but Atrocitus blocks this blow as well. He shockingly rolls a natural 20 to take a fourth turn, sending Atrocitus flying backwards but failing to harm him.
Atrocitus flies up where he was and immediately obliterates the Decoy, before burning a marker to take command of two of his men. Dex-Starr repositions and immediately rips Kilowog’s throat out... but Kilowog is then revealed to have been a Skrull all along! WHAT A TWIST! Bleez then moves next to Atrocitus and strikes Hal, inflicting two wounds and a third automatic one with Treacherous Rage.
Round Three
Hal claims the initiative and punches Bleez, hard, inflicting two wounds on her and knocking her into Dex-Starr, knocking both of them out. He could be boosted to strike again by Aya, but she holds off.
Jack Moore moves next to Atrocitus, kills the Skrull, and then finishes Hal off with a Burning Touch, burning his only marker.
Razer retreats - there is no victory to be had today, and he is exposed - he will be annihilated swiftly if he remains.
Atrocitus flies up to Aya and strikes her, hard, inflicting two wounds. Rankorr then flies up next to Atrocitus and attempts to strike Aya, but he is lacking in power, and his blow is weak.
Enraged by Atrocitus’s attack on Aya, and spurred on by his love for her (i.e. he rolled an 11 for, +3 for wounded heroes, +3 for Aya’s boost = the required 17), Razer flies into a Righteous and protective Rage. He flies up to Rankorr and unloads on him from low ground, knowing he’ll have to take him out to get to Atrocitus. His first blow inflicts three wounds, and triggers the Rage of Rankorr. His second blow is blocked, but his third finishes Rankorr off. With his final blow, he turns his attention to the nearly felled Atrocitus, but the mighty Lord of the Red Lanterns shrugs his blow aside, and Razer is left spent, but not victorious.
Atrocitus turns his attention towards the traitor Razer, and strikes the exhausted Red Lantern with a devastating blow from high ground, crushing him entirely.
Round Four
Aya claims the initiative, and calmly, logically strikes her aggressor, her disposition taking precedence over her desperate predicament. Atrocitus, however, cares not for her meagre blows.
Atrocitus strikes Aya across the face, hard, inflicting another wound.
Aya blasts again, distracting her assailant, but failing to harm him.
Atrocitus strikes Aya with a comparatively weak blow, but enough to tear off a section of her chassis, leaving her dangerously close to death.
Aya draws all power to her for one final blast... and it pays off, just, leaving the Lord of the Red Lanterns ruined upon the field of battle.
Interceptor Crew victorious - Green Lantern (Aya) 4/5 wounds.
Overview: That was awesome - a beautifully thematic matchup and a brutal bloodbath! The Interceptor Crew works well, and Aya absolutely ties them together - she’s exceptionally useful, providing the quick, easy mobilisation, paired with a strafing run for auto-wounds, and boosting the D20 rolls of exceptional powers like Fearless Charge and Righteous Rage - without the two rolls she boosted when she did, that would have been a massacre, and the Crew would have been slaughtered. As is, they managed to pull off a nail-biting victory, thanks to her. All four members of the crew felt vital, and Aya especially - she makes this build work, just as I hoped she would.

Overview: Another fun game. Aya didn’t feel quite as good a fit here as she did with the actual Interceptor Crew, but it was certainly a fun build and I like that there are other options for playing her. She’s a reasonable option for a ‘connective tissue’ figure if you want to build an army from across the emotional spectrum, and she’s fun. Oh, an I really, really like Munk! Channel Emotional Energy is bleeding awesome!
Re: The Book of Green Lantern (Aya) - Initial Playtesting
- Theme Test - Definite Pass, she feels just like the character from the cartoon. - Mirror Test - Pass
- Bonding Test - Pass - Any bonding she receives will be in no way superior to what other Green Lanterns can receive - statistically, she’s weak next to most fully charged Lanterns (though she notably never loses charge). - Synergies Test - Pass - Same above, save for the synergies she herself provides - the drop/strike ability is strategic, fun and dangerous, but not overwhelming, and her D20 boost, though extremely useful and a game changer/turner, is not overpowered. - Power Check - Pass - She never felt overpowering. - Fun Test - Definite Pass - Dropping your Lanterns from the stratosphere, strafing with the Interceptor’s guns as you do so, and helping trigger the powers of strong Lanterns which sometimes struggle to trigger... she’s great! - Fun Competitive Test - Pass - There’s nothing annoying about facing her. - Drafting Test - Pass - Absolutely - she’s very much factional (you need to take her with a significant number of other Lanterns, and even within that, some pairings, such as the deeply thematic Hal and Razer, are better than others), but within that faction, I’d be very much likely to reach for her. Notably, she’s definitely a figure you build your army around rather than a throw-in, and she helps make multi-coloured Lantern builds eminently viable even when they’re otherwise lacking in interconnecting synergy, which is fun when it comes to opening up your options for army builds. - Usage Test - Pass - All of her powers, and all aspects of them, were used to some degree, and you felt it when they triggered. - Strategy Test - Definite Pass - The very nature of having a dropping Interceptor Crew who can get covering fire from the Interceptor when they drop is strategic - when do they drop, in what order, where do I drop them, who do I target, etc. - and the once per round D20 boost is also a game-changer if you use it properly.

Final Thoughts On The Tested Unit:
