I just finished a game with a son on this map and the raised road became the focal point of the battle. I tried to get some OGs up to the lava but my son took them out with snipers before they could make it. He had Kelda sitting up there blocking the cliffs. Finally on turn three my airborne elites dropped onto the cliff and took them over. The rest of the battle was between my son's viking army against the samurai and Agent Carr on the road. Fun map to play on. I think I may come up with a coop scenario to fight guys up on the cliffs.
Funny how that unplanned elevation differential can really turn a battle.

Also, it's rough with the OG's if they don't start on lava, or have easy access to some - my condolences

I narrowed the map some and added height around the road so it removed it as the spot of the fighting. Much better the second round when Charos, Brunar, and the Wolves took out his army of Soulborgs.

Out with the old and in with the new. Map #2 is gone and up with map #3 (pics in the first post of the thread). This time a 3 player level starting on volcanic mountains. A river divides the map with 2 long bridges joining them.

Map #4 just a couple of bad pictures of it. Nice big map built on the pool table. My son and I are currently having a 1000 pt per side battle on it.

1 TT really makes 1 VW look puny.

Map #6 a landbridge of ice. 4 MS, 1 RTFF, 1TT, 1VW. Fun map, road hexes accelerate climbing up to the bridge, cliffs on side of the bridge give good sniping spots to the other side. Bridge base is 3 24 hex pieces clipped together. We've played it with light snow and slippery ice rules.

Getting back into the game lately. Son just built a nice 7 MS map. Map goes off the table with castle ladders down to the floor probably not very practical but it looks cool. Will post some pics later.

New map, excuse the crappy cell phone pictures. Big map around 7 MS plus several rttf, vw, tt, and castle sets.

Have you played on this big map Orbital?
What was the use of the ladders going down to the floor?

Figures can't attack themselves.

I really don't know why he built stuff down to the floor probably because we had enough pieces for it It's water at the edge and down there so I suppose you could jump down it from the table to escape quickly. We are going to play 1000 pt armies on it this weekend haven't played anything on it yet.
