Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Breathing)
Could always bump the range from 5 to 10. That'd leave a fair amount of space to stay within range and still get some good mileage out of Trap Door.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Breathing)
I'm a little bit torn here, I like the idea of having a small reason to draft Constantine and her together and the d20 roll does that, but the once per round limitation makes the power much more consistent and potentially much less annoying for your opponent when getting exploited by someone who's got a hot d20. I'm willing to see either one tested.
Just one thing I wanted to point out that I realized while thinking about this design, when rolling attack dice you would have to decide to flip the blank before your opponent rolls defense dice so you wouldn't actually know how many blanks you needed. Not sure if it matters much if you are flipping a shield anyway, but you wouldn't flip a skull to a blank after seeing your opponent roll enough shields on defense to block her attack but no blanks. |

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
I'm pretty happy with the increased range but a higher d20 roll. I like keeping the Batman III/Constantine combo there.
With dok's concerns addressed, I propose a vote to move to Initial Playtesting. |

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
Yea and it passes anyways. I really want to keep the JLD encouragements in this design as a support figure for the faction, and we've done so thus far. It looks like a lot of the faction will be happening publicly if YK runs with Constantine, some allies pick up steam on the others, and I get to Deadman, who I've workshopped publicly. This one is in-house, so it's good that it's not a core leader figure.
Like Superheroes and Comics?

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
I’m not opposed to putting this out to the Public sooner rather than later just so people have it for the JLD figures that feature a blank mechanic. But I think that urgency all depends on when people actually start designing the characters.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
I agree that making her available for testing is important if some of the other members of JLD are going to be designed with a blank mechanic in play. Just letting the public members know exactly how the power works would be helpful to the design process.

Re: The Book of Zatanna (II) (Vote for Initial Testing)
I don't think that's entirely necessary. For one, this is an Arkham thread so it will likely be in Public Testing before next weekend. After that all the Allies that are into the JLD series will probably be playtesting her. None of the Ally workshopped designs will be ready for a thread before then.
