So let me make sure I have this clear before I use the character...

With his 2nd special, do you HAVE to put a wound on? It says you may choose a figure adjacent, and you may put on a wound. Does "may" mean you have the option, or is it something you must do? Also, does this power affect your own characters when taking turns? Obviously if it's an option not to inflict a wound, it wouldn't matter, but I figured I would ask anyways.

Yes, the 'may' terminology is there because it is optional.

I had a question about 12th Level Intellect, If you have Braniac, or Braniac 13, and a card like Executioner who has a special ability that lets you roll an unblockable attack die against an enemy figure, can you reveal the X OM on Braniac to add an unblockable hit?

The main reason I ask is because I would like to compile a list of all figures (or combination of figures) that can escape. Right now I can only think of Doctor Fate, Doctor Manhattan, Mister Mxyzptlk and maybe any vigilante with the help of Commissioner Gordon.




Now another matter. The ruling above regarding figures you control seems to contradict the FAQ on the OP.

  A - The collected figures are not necessarily out of the game and they are not destroyed. They are just extremely difficult to get back. If there was a figure that could bring itself back into the game, or some type of summoning power on another card that might be able to bring back other collected figures, the collected figures may be able to come back. If Brainiac collected a wounded Hawkgirl, she could potentially still affect Hawkman's attack. If a player can find a way to bring back a collected figure or make them relevant in some way, great. Otherwise, it is a loss and very difficult to get back.

UNDYING LOVE
If you control Hawkgirl and she is destroyed or has at least one Wound Marker on her card, when Hawkman attacks, he may attack one additional time.

Mechanically, I think you're right about Gordon. I'm not sure if we want it to work that way, though ....

While on Brainiacs' card due to Miniaturized Collection that figure is still part the controlling player's army but not currently under that player's control. Therefore any special power that refers to the figure in the bottle as a figure "you control" cannot not activate. On the same note no power that requires clear sight or a limited distance of the figure can activate as that figure is not on the battlefield. Order Markers can still be placed and revealed on these figures however.

I know it's extremely wordy, but I think necessary. If there is a word guru out there that can stream line it I would appreciate the help. Maybe it should be broken up into many smaller FAQ's. What do others think?

Well, since the idea was that if Hawkgirl was ever part of your Army and took a wound it would boost Hawkman, perhaps Undying Love needs an update. A simple "If Hawkgirl is part of your Army and she is destroyed or has at least one Wound Marker on her card, when Hawkman attacks, he may attack one additional time." should work.
