Flagbearers Rules Questions
Hello,
The green flagbearer Acolarh says it affects 'elf' characters. The warriors of Ashra say 'elves' rather than 'elf' like Syvarris and the Aubrien Archers squad from wave four. Are the warriors affected by Acolarh's abality? The orange flagbearer Hatamoto Taro says he affects ashigaru figures. Does anyopne know what an ashigaru is? Methinks something from a future expansion. maybe the Samurai hero? Thanks, Hogg |

Welcome to the site, Hogg.
WoA are each an Elf (Elves being plural for Elf) so he does affect them. Ashigaru are the non-samurai warriors from fuedal Japan and so far, HS does not have any officially. We expect the human archers seen from Wave 6 will be ashigaru. Newb. |

Elves and Elfs are both acceptable constructions according to me. (C. S. Lewis went for "elves", and J. R. R. Tolkien for "elfs" in the Inklings literary group.)

Keeping with the topic of the thread...
Hatamoto Taro - Heroic Defense - It says, "Each Einar symbol rolled counts as an additional shield." So if you roll the symbol do you add 1 or 2 shields? If it is only 1, why didn't they just say, "Each Einar symbol rolled counts as a shield." "Just let the dirt shower over you" - Brennan Huff "Do Good, Avoid Evil" - Charles N. One. Same with Ornak's power. It says additional because you get a skull or sheild in addition to whatever shields or skulls you do roll.
Also, It says additional shield (skull) and not additional block (hit), like the powers that double skulls and sheilds. |

Here is a flagbearer question: If you use Gilbert to move the 4th Line, do they still get the wait and then fire bonus?

Gilbert just got alot better. I shudder at the MassFlag armies that will be produced.

Ha! I knew this was coming! As soon as I saw Wolf/Wolves I knew someday this would happen
Anyway, Gilbert doesn't really help the 4th Mass that much. It would be better to take the turn marker on the 4th Mass to move them and get a weaker shot that turn than to put one on Gilbert just to move them. It might be good for moving them in when you're already attacking with the Knights though. The real problem with Gilbert's ability is that it just doesn't let you move things very far. Sure you can get a crazy 12 charge, but in all probability you're only going to get 1-3 moves per turn. |

Even a boost of one can help. What if your enemy outranges you by one? Now you can move and keep your wait and then fire bonus. Those extra two dice could be all you need to get you the hight advanyage you need. The benefits go on and on.
