My opinions:

If you only like 1 design, you should be giving more feedback in the Public Design thread so more designs will be made that you like.

If you only want to see 1 design next, I really don't feel this is fair to other designs as their designers need your feedback of knowing what you like and one way they get that is with your votes. In fact, this is why I was thinking about making voting for 3 designs mandatory.

Personally, I agree with this. Also, if someone knows they're getting votes even if they don't win, it can be encouraging, especially to the new people.

I don't see a problem with allowing votes for only 1 design. If someone really wants to see a design over any others, what's wrong with letting them vote for just that design? Making 3 mandatory would still make it possible to game the system as someone could vote for a design that's getting few votes and has little chance at winning. This would actually create more of a problem, I think, as there'd be designs that might still need work getting votes and no feedback. If you want heroes giving opinions on designs, I think they need to be encouraged to participate more in the Public Design thread. I know that they're busy balancing real life issues and Inner Sanctum work, but that's the best way for us public designers to get feedback, in my opinion.

I give plenty of feedback in the Public Design thread, that doesn't mean everything I share is put in and that suddenly I like every design.

I'm not a fan of you going this direction because sometimes I really want to help one person get a design in because they haven't had a chance to LD before (like TrollBrute). If I am forced to give a second and third vote, I am going to wait and give them to people who have no chance of competing with the design I want to support regardless of whether I like the design or not. That is counter-productive to what you are suggesting, but it is the most logical thing for me to do. By only voting for the one I want to win, I am not confusing anyone.

EDIT: TrollBrute just said the same thing, so I'm not coming totally out of the left field here.

I think the fewer rules we have governing this process and the more open and friendly we keep it to the public, the better.

Would those against the idea of a forced 3 votes consider at least listing a couple of designs for honorable mention and no points? Not required but encouraged.
I think a lot of people want to know what the Heroes like.

I like the idea of honorable mentions. In fact, I think I will start commenting on my votes saying why I voted for the three I did and which others I really liked too.

If you did that, it would probably inspire me to vote for more options and to also give reasons why. That is leadership that I can support and follow.
