I'm curious - could you summarize some of the major differences you've noticed?

Reap, the only problem I have with the pictures you posted are the White-white faces of the Therians.
I can very easily fix that, no prob.
Other than that, I think the pictures I've seen surpass ANYTHING in HS by a mile. But, I've never really had that much of a problem with HS paintjobs.
It's always been fine with me.(Well, maybe not the Ashra.)

Theres where the biggest difference is.
Through all the threads I've read, "I'll have to repaint them.." seems to be a common theme. HS paintjobs would NEVER do.
The thing with Rackham games is ,like a couple other companies, it's more about the whole hobby thing.
The painting, the terrain building and whatnot, the "fluff"(they call it) is the text books of clan history and whatever else.
The game itself is an after thought.

Then theres the rules.
While I've never played Confrontation, it's always seem like they made it more complicated then it really needed to be.
Rackham figured this out, and has gone through 3.5 versions of rule changes to simplify the game.
The "hard-core" Conf. players are not pleased.

I've read through the initiation rules of AT-43, and while it's not all that complicated, I don't think its as good as HS.

I'm going to a pre-release demo in the next couple of weeks.
I'll give a full report of how the game plays.

Just a quick point of clarification: when Reaper talks about the painjob on the AT-43 figures I don't think he necessarily means they are bad and thats the end of it. In this case I would disagree. The paintjobs are decent in comparison to Heroscape.

I think he means they are sub-par for the cost especially when compared to other games in the same price range such as the Mongoose games. In this case I completely agree: AT-43 paint standards are not up to par with other games which cost an arm and a leg. If I have to pay a small fortune for only a few figures and no terrain plus any shipping costs, I'd like those figures to have a darned good paintjob =\

I understood what Reap meant. I do think he underestimates the number of people who play/paint games though.

Reaper, if I couldnt paint, I probably would give the figures a miss (thus showing, as you said, the publishers failed to give the set that necessary appealing look that sells)

Does anyone know of a good place to get singles of some of these sets? I'm looking for something with an easy to scan thru gallery, and decent prices.
