Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
NAME = CHUCKY
SECRET IDENTITY = CHARLES LEE RAY SPECIES = DOLL UNIQUENESS = UNIQUE HERO CLASS = SLASHER PERSONALITY = INSANE SIZE/HEIGHT = SMALL 3 LIFE = 4 MOVE = 4 RANGE = 1 ATTACK = 3 DEFENSE = 2 POINTS = 85 BARBIE MODE After moving a figure you control that started its movement adjacent to Chucky, you may place Chucky on any empty space adjacent to that figure. Chucky is never attacked when leaving engagements. If Chucky has not attacked or inflicted a wound on an enemy figure yet this game, and is not the only figure you control on the battlefield, he cannot be targeted by an enemy figure for attacks or special powers and does not prevent figures engaged with him from attacking non-adjacent figures. CHILD'S PLAY After Chucky or an adjacent figure you control attacks a figure adjacent to Chucky and does not destroy it, you must roll the 20-sided die. Add 3 to the roll if the attacking figure is a Slasher or Tormentor. If you roll 6 or lower, the attacking figure receives a wound. If you roll 16 or higher, the defending figure receives a wound. PLAY DEAD If Chucky would be destroyed by receiving 2 or more wounds, he instead receives 1 wound and is considered in Barbie Mode for the remainder of this player turn. Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
Honestly, I never see myself putting an OM on Chucky anyway, so the "instead of taking a turn" ability is not super significant. Making play dead inflict two wounds does matter more. What is the significance of "another" there? Just that he can't animate himself by throwing himself off of a cliff?
Ah, so Chucky can't attempt a leaving engagement attack while inanimate. Right. That does reduce his power a fair bit. I don't think the wording needs to change but for sure there should be a ruling in the book that spells that out. One interesting side effect here is that friendly figures can walk through Chucky but unfriendly figures are blocked by him. Clingy does feel pretty powerful here, and that's the main thing that drives the power of the figure. But I think it's thematic enough and fun enough that it's worth trying to make it work. Here's a shot at something (I'm interested in thoughts from the other CRBers on it): Quote:
This is still very strong - it basically forces most opponent to waste 3 wounds/attacks to deal with Chucky, and take 3 wounds from him, and in between those Chucky can still gum things up a bit while inanimate. All while requiring zero Order Markers. Yeesh, maybe still too strong... |

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
Synergy and release info updated.
Chucky uses 'targeting' for special powers in Barbie Mode, but it didn't seem like there was any big pressure to move away from that. My EPB checks look good otherwise. |

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
EDIT: superninja'ed!
OK, so my suggestion would be:
CARRIED TOYUnrelated, but Play Dead in its current form also feels a bit excessive. Maybe I feel that way because it hit a bunch of times the one time I played against him, but it's still weird to me that we'd give an 85 point figure a defensive power from an Asgardian God. In many ways it's much better here, because Balder relies on his high life and defense and is often only at one life anyway, while Chucky is frequently blocking a 3 or 4-wound hit cold with this power. I'm pretty sure he's the hardest figure to kill under 100 points in the game, and I don't think it's very close. I'd suggest just having him take the wound automatically; in practice I think he still usually gets to use the second half of the power most of the time. |

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
Comic:
Spoiler Alert!
Background: Figure Tutorial: You need the Doctor Psycho heroclix and a Catman heroclix that comes with the knives in his hands. Start with the Doctor Psycho heroclix. Remove the purple disc from his back: Paint his blue overalls: Paint his lighter blue shirt: Paint his dark red shoes with the white soles and stripes: Paint his shirt stripes red, pink, green, and blue, as well as some lighter blue on the cuffs of his pants with some similar stripes: Build up some blue paint on his overalls to fill in any seems or edges the suit had to try and make it look like one piece of clothing: Add some white stitches for the pocket and along the edges, some red buttons, some red writing on the pocket, and some random colored short lines all over his overalls: Cut his hair a bit to be a little flatter on the sides and not stick up so much. Also cut away some of the hair to expose the scalp along the receding hairline and sides. Then paint a brownish orange. Then flesh colored over the exposed scalp and the eyebrows. Paint light blue over the black eyes. Paint Chucky’s scars on his face with a dark red. Cut off one of the knives from the Catman heroclix(save the Catman figure with the other knife to use for Michael Myers) and glue it on Chucky’s hand. Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
I'm guessing 75 will end up being a tad high. Even with his defensive powers, he'll fold fast with those stats. He feels more like Atom (Ray Palmer) right now than something stronger.

Re: The Book of Chucky (Charles Lee Ray) (Breathing)
The current write-up is 150+ points, I'd say. Ragdoll with more durability and auto-wounds.

Quote:
Ragdoll also has 1 better attack, though I know that's not that relevant as you get these guys for Order Marker efficiency. I think with a much slower base move, though, Chucky has a longer set up time and higher pay off than Ragdoll. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
