Isaiah Thomas and Joe Dumars are like the yin/yang of former players turning to coaching and/or the front office.

Dumars did take Darko over Melo and Dwayne Wade and couldn't put up with a little of Larry's grousing

Besides, I'm very pleased with Isiah's performance, he got Denver AI!!!!

Sad to see Miller go, the 76ers really are getting a good point guard. But I agree with the Nuggets decision. If they had to get rid of one impact player from the roster, Miller was probably the best choice.

Right you are Agent. Both are respected players, but not so much people. Although, the more I think about it, the more it doesn't bother me that Thomas ordered the hard foul (presumably) on the Nuggets. When I first saw it, I was a little shocked. But now I'm kinda glad it happend. I always thought George Karl was kind of a d*ck too. If it was any other Coach, I'm sure he would have played it the same way.

I'll give you OJ and maybe McGuire but Pete was wronged I tell you wronged, and Clarett never gave himself the chance to establish a legacy so I don't think he counts.

Does Iverson & Melo together make sense?

Bannister

That can only mean one thing. And I don't know what it is.

It makes perfect sense - on paper. We'll see how it actually plays out at the end of the season, but Iverson and Melo both demand double teams, so one of them is going to be open, or a very capable teammate (Nuggets, even despite their injury/suspension problems, are still one of the deeper, if not deepest, teams in the league) is going to have no-one on them. Iverson scores with the ball, Melo gets into trouble when he dribbles around - perfect match. The way the Nuggets are built to run, both should keep their scoring averages about where they are, in fact, need to if the Nuggets are going to be successful. Iverson's assists should go way up as well. Definitely makes sense from a team-building point of view.

Then there's the business side of the trade. No-one in Denver without a rooting interest in the visiting team was going to attend the next 12 home games without Melo in the lineup. Now those games are going to be sellouts. As is every game from now until K-Mart returns and the Nuggets literally beat a team to death

EDIT: also, a point I made earlier, the Nuggets had to keep AI out of Minnesota, or they were going to be the 3rd best team in their division and have a hard time even getting a 7th or 8th seed. Now they are the favorites in their division, and that's without Kenyon Martin for the year and Melo missing 1/5 of the season.
