This was pointed out to me but how does this spell make sense? Why would you increase your defense until the end of your turn?

Presumably this is for future expansions. Imagine Twisted Image as a Hidden Enchantment affecting the attacking squad, for example.

Depending on your level of cynicism, you can either say that they've got future plans that will change this situation or...

The game designers are idiots and didn't realize that you can't just copy and paste an existing MtG instant spell into a sorcery for this game without ruining it.

Personally I believe it was the lead producer / developer who is at fault.

Agreed

No one thought it through or playtested it so we have a player turn and a game turn and probably a whole group not realising that end of turn meant different things on various spells and effects.

So spells with the end of turn should last a player (Planeswalker) game turn ,removed to your graveyard as the first action of your Player (Planeswalker) turn.

I doubt they will admit their mistake.

I am surprised that the reply here is so accepting that this is not just a huge mistake that permeates the whole game.

Easily resolved. In reality some "bright spark" probably said lets not add the complication of having all players have a "turn" then end the game turn , lets multiply the number of turns by the number of players and each player can advance the turn marker. No one discused it properly or maybe communicated it to the group working on the game and now they will need to address this.

Does this affect "every creature that was in range at the time the spell was cast" or "every creature that is currently in range at any given moment"?

On why there is a defensive boost, there is a spell card (Fight?) that forces the creatures to do battle using only sword and shield, no dice.

Well, "fight" is the term for the event the spell causes-- the spell itself is Rabid Bite.

Also, that makes so much sense. It perfectly explains why some cards give modifiers that go away before they'd normally be useful. Never would've thought of that.
