This was pointed out to me but how does this spell make sense? Why would you increase your defense until the end of your turn?

Agreed No one thought it through or playtested it so we have a player turn and a game turn and probably a whole group not realising that end of turn meant different things on various spells and effects. So spells with the end of turn should last a player (Planeswalker) game turn ,removed to your graveyard as the first action of your Player (Planeswalker) turn. I doubt they will admit their mistake. I am surprised that the reply here is so accepting that this is not just a huge mistake that permeates the whole game. Easily resolved. In reality some "bright spark" probably said lets not add the complication of having all players have a "turn" then end the game turn , lets multiply the number of turns by the number of players and each player can advance the turn marker. No one discused it properly or maybe communicated it to the group working on the game and now they will need to address this. |

Does this affect "every creature that was in range at the time the spell was cast" or "every creature that is currently in range at any given moment"?

Current.
On why there is a defensive boost, there is a spell card (Fight?) that forces the creatures to do battle using only sword and shield, no dice. |
