Okay, well my thesis based on all the help in this thread:
Valkrill's name comes from two seperate Norwegian words combined (valkr and rill), to create the meaning of "River of the Slain". (A direct reference to his creation at the subterranean River of Blood)
He represents refined evil, an aspect of end and destruction created from the most vile of paths. Taking the River to Hell, figuratively.
A manifestation of Charon, The Grim Reaper, Azrael, or any aspect of destroying death and torment.
Utgar is the beginning of evil, a representation of hate, dominance and pride, emotions developed due to darkness. He depends on powerful lords who share his passion for control through war.
Valkrill is the end of evil, its punishment, insanity and complete apathetic will to destroy. Pure mindless chaos. He is the master of end, and as such requires no leaders in his army. (maybe a reason to nothing but squads, rather than use the fact Heroscape discontinued before Valkrill was raised.)
His symbol, the skull, based off the skull of the attack die, Mitonsoul, and Wannok, this represents damage, foreboding, the only thing from him is death and end.
Valkrill is to Utgar as Carnage is to Venom.
All the references to end, ancient evil, death, and raising reminds me of Skorne (Gauntlet), Sauron, and the other "untouchable" evils that men serve till their doom.
From the depths of the earth, the Underdark (Hell), he raises the forsaken to claim his reign over what Utgar has secured.
Awesome! Now he makes sense. Name, meaning, purpose.
Thanks for all your help, everyone who posted in this thread. Results of this discussion shall be seen in my Icaria story. (Valkrill will have more of a connection to that planet then most realize
