Re: C3G Promotions Dept. | FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS - Freaky Frida
Yeah there's some sick offensive power in this release. The entity is a bit on the complex side, but gotta make it worth it for anybody crazy enough to shell out for that figure (Ronin found it somewhere fairly cheap at least -- it's proxy for me!).
Parallax (Hal and Entity both) had been on my "to do" list for years and years (really loved the Zero Hour story and collected a lot of Kyle GL comics where he fought Parallax) so it's sweet for it to see the light of day. And, yeah, Superboy-Prime breaks time. I look forward to hearing how these play for you all! C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Venom and Parallax coming out so close together also has me wondering what the most crazy boosted single unit you can make is. Draft Arkillo, slap both the Venom Symbiote and Parallax on him, and have Mr. Sinister mess with his genes, and you’ve got something really scary on your hands.

Heh. So would love to hear more of what you all think of what we've released thus far, and speculation on what's coming Friday (it's a big one)!

Re: C3G Promotions Dept. | FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS - Freaky Frida
Unless it spoils the fun, I want to hear from the designers what abilities they are most proud of. And maybe some not-so-obvious ways they can be implemented. Of course, that might all be in the books.
I'm a fan of the Drive to Work podcast, especially listening to the Magic the Gathering creator talk about color theory. I'd love to hear personal thoughts on how these factions represent their respective emotions in game. Of course it comes across in the cards, but still, would be fun to read. I always like to know more. |

Re: C3G Promotions Dept. | FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS - Freaky Frida
Each color lantern has some pretty unique powers in DC (and many characters have their own special thing too), so it was fun brainstorming ways to represent those powers in C3G. Seeing the Rage of Ysmault special power and Yellow Lantern (Hank Henshaw)'s take on a battery marker mechanic was an eye-opener to me about how creative special powers can be while still having the feel of a familiar mechanic that makes the cards feel like C3G Lanterns.
I'd check out the playtests linked in the threads if you're looking for specific strategies or army builds, as we try to test the strongest combos. |
