Re: The Book of Martian Manhunter (II)
Quick question. Does MM prevent the black lanterns from taking control of figures?
Blackest night power uses past tense of "destroyed" figure which suggests that it is no longer part of their army, but I need clarification for a test |

Re: The Book of Martian Manhunter (II)
Ok. I was just unsure as the figure is still within the 4 clear sight spaces of mm. Really comes down to the order of effects when a figure is destroyed. Let me rephrase for clarity. Once destroyed is the figure no longer a figure you control?

Re: The Book of Martian Manhunter (II)
A destroyed figure wouldn't be protected because they wouldn't be under your control (they would still be in your army though, those are different things) or within 4 spaces of Martian Manhunter.
But Blackest Night's particular wording is weird. It reads more like a replacement effect that does something instead of destroying the figure since it doesn't include any text about placing the figure back on the battlefield from the 'graveyard'. Unless it is assuming there is a period where a figure is destroyed yet not removed from the battlefield yet... which I'm not sure exists. Re: The Book of Martian Manhunter (II)
It was the lack of placing that had me questioning it

Re: The Book of Martian Manhunter (II)
Yeah, with a bit about returning the figure to the battlefield it would be very cut and dry that MM can't do anything about it. But as it's written the power just isn't very clear. I'd probably play it as MM not stopping it? That's the option that makes sense thematically.

Re: The Book of Martian Manhunter (II)
Yeah, it refers to the "destroyed" figure at some point, which indicates the figure is still literally destroyed, at which point it's not longer under your control, I would think.
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.
