Doctor Manhattan and Mad Thinker are a brutal combo, the ability to look at opponent’s Order Markers with Infinite Being before rearranging them with Mind Games is killer; add to that Manhattan can teleport the Androids straight into the enemy base. But despite all that, they actually lost this game (though it was close); one of the reasons for this is because I intentionally drafted an army that couldn’t be entirely ruined by Mind Games, many other armies with filler units would have little hope against this team-up (and at this higher-cost, filler units are even more likely).

Damage: 5 wounds to Dark Phoenix
Power Usage/Effectiveness:
Reconstitution: Revived Dr. Manhattan 2 times.

- Give a brief overview. The luck killed Manhattan and friends this game. Not only did Auto Chain Gun AND Engagement Strike fail every time, but Manhattan activated Growing Apathy nearly half his turns in only 5 rounds, and on top of that his attack dice sucked (it took him 3 turns to kill Invisible Woman, often while on height). A Doctor Manhattan pod is fun, but Growing Apathy is a strong balancing factor.

UNIT SUM-UP
Damage: all 4 wounds to Iron Man, all 5 wounds to Invisible Woman.
Power Usage/Effectiveness:
Reconstitution: Revived Dr. Manhattan 0 times.

- Give a brief overview. While this was a very fun and fairly balanced game for most of the units, Growing Apathy got extremely annoying for Dr. Manhattan. He was able to position his team, then teleport into the enemy base and tie them down for almost the whole game (plus get some disengagement wound in); but then when I tried to use him to take down Master Mold, I just kept losing my OMs. I think Growing Apathy would work better on a lower roll (possibly a 1, because the round build-up is going to quickly increase that number).

UNIT SUM-UP
Damage: 4 wounds to Master Mold (1 from disengagement), 4 wounds to Sentinels through disengagement.
Power Usage/Effectiveness:
Reconstitution: Revived Dr. Manhattan 1 times.

- Give a brief overview. Despite the devastating effectiveness of Manhattan’s team early in the game, they didn’t pull out the win. As expected, Manhattan himself became nearly useless later in the game, and once the enemy got enough figures succesfully through Auto Chain Gun and the like, they were able to wear away at Manhattan’s friends. A close game, and a pretty enjoyable won.

UNIT SUM-UP
Damage: all 4 wounds to Weather Wizard, 4 wounds to Gorilla-Man, all 4 wounds to Peotor, 1 City Warrior, 1 wound to Igor.
Power Usage/Effectiveness:

The point cost seems to be accurate, which is exciting, but he seems to echo the lost turns as being on the annoying side. I'm hoping that Silk Spectre can mitigate this without completely unbalancing him... but otherwise things look pretty good. Glad he can be played as a support unit, as well.

Yeah, if you can protect her, she'll definitely help him stay competitive. I think he seems interesting and different right now, and presents a unique challenge, which is fun in its own right. It's not going to fit everyone's play style, but I think that's OK.

And 470 sounds good!

I am not sure how to evaluate this design. He reads broken but Growing Apathy kept him in check, big time. It is pretty much foolish to destroy him anything but last with his automatic Reconstitution.
This is why I tried running him with Grundy and Doomsday but I still got it handed to me.

I am puzzled by this one. Good Luck.
Again, a pretty poor showing... he didn't get too much use out of Silk Spectre, and his Pod's strength was undermined by Growing Apathy. I think as Viegon shows he can really get in on the opponent, but it seems like it's pretty tough to set that up perfectly.

I'd like to get one more test and include Silk Spectre again - should I ask in public, poll the Sidekicks, what do you think?
