Hmmm...

I kind of like the Energy Construct. I would prefer it as a species, but it wouldn't fit too well.

I guess, the way it currently is on the firt post is a way to get that. Energy species and Construct class.

I don't have a problem with these constructs being affected by a power/attack that was specific to Energy Species like Living Laser or whatever. As long as these GL constructs don't have synergies with GL/YLC with Engergy Species being the tie in. I can't think of any real reason to ever have a bonding or synergy based on the species of "Energy", though I can see powers that could affect these "Energy" constructs in the same manner as they affect other "Energy" species.

I think Engergy species can be interesting and having specific counters on some cards would be cool where they could affect any energy species.

So as long as the Class remains "Construct" I will vote for B). Energy species.

If the Class for these constructs were to be something different than Construct, then I would choose A). Construct species.

Good points Hahma. I will put you down for Energy then, since the Class hasn't been brought into question. Plus, and I think you would agree, the name of this unit is also Construct, and I think that is just way too much use of the word if we also change his species to that.

Yeah, I'm fine with Hahma's approach. I was thinking "Weapon" might be a good class, but "Construct" as the class makes more sense.
Now that we have that resolved, we just need an initial playtest on this one before we can move to ERB.

C3G PLAY TEST FEEDBACK FORM

NAME OF THE TEST UNIT GREEN CONSTRUCT (MECH WARRIOR)

- Army Test/ Does it pass? YES, close game and lots of fun.
Map: Platforms 5 and 6
Units: Green Lantern (Hal) and Green Construct (Mech) VS Martian Manhunter and Batman

Spoiler Alert!

GL moves up quickly while MM moves up some and brings batman in with his T Directive. GL summons his Mech and he puts a wound on MM and 3 on Batman. MM engages them both on height while Batman trails through the shadows with the T Directive. MM puts a wound on the Mech. Then the Mech attacks MM again for 2 more wounds. MM rolls 6 skulls on the Mech, but GL saves him with a Shield. Batman engages GL and gives him 2 wounds. The Mech puts another wound on MM, then MM rolls 4 skulls, so GL burns another Power Shield to save his Mech. The Mech kills MM. Batman hits the Mech and misses. Then the Mech kills himself against Evasive Strike. GL gets down to one PB left, adn Batman hits him with 4 skulls, so GL looses the last PB. Hal gets initiative and ends up attacking 3 times with his fearless charge until he finally lands a wound on Batman.

GL wins with 3 wounds and 0 Power Batteries.

- Army Test/ Does it pass? YES, things were close in the end, and though the Mech could not get line of sight on the Batman and still stay out of range of the Evasive Strike, if he had, he could have really given Batman a bad day.

Units: Green Lantern (Hal) and Green Construct (Mech) VS Superman, Batman, and Green Arrow

Superman takes height, while Flash runs through the subway station. Superman drops down on Flash and attacks but misses. Flash runs over and hits Green Arrow for 3 wounds. Then GA risks leaving engagement and succeeds and then puts a wound on Flash with Skill Shot. Then Flash kills Green Lantern, and takes a wound. Then Superman hits GL and forces him to remove a PB marker with an attack of 7 skulls! Then GL summons his mech and the mech goes after Batman, but could not get a shot in on him due to line of sight issues. So the Mech fires up at Superman and manages to put a wound on him. Superman then hits GL for another 7 skull attack! So GL burns another PB. Then GL brings the Mech back up top and attacks Superman for a few more wounds, but Superman flies over and kills the mech with one solid punch of 5 skulls! Next GL gets crazy and Fearlessly Charges the Man of Steel and puts him two away from death with a frenzy of x4. Then Superman rolls 3 skulls, and GL fails his defense... he dies. Superman swoops down and hits Flash for 2 wounds, but Flash comes back and hits Superman with his special attack and kills him. Then Flash goes and puts 1 wound on Batman. Then Batman attacks but fails. Flash then tries to end it with a normal attack on height, but Batman hits his Evasive Strike and Flash bites the pavement.

Batman wins with 1 wound.

Flash uses the tunnel to rush in, and Green Arrow moves up on to platform 5. Flash attacks GL from height and gives him 3 wounds. Then GA puts 3 on Flash. Flash chases GA and kills him, but that is when GL summons his Mech and then flies to height, and then moves his Mech Adjacent to Flash and attacks. The Mech attacked once, Flash dodged, attacked twice, Flash dodged (still in range), then attacked the third time for the kill. Superman mvoes up on height, GL engages him and but fails his attack. Then Superman forces GL to drop a PB. GL frenzies and gives him 3 total wounds. Then Superman forces GL to drop another PB. GL brings up his Mech and the Mech puts one wound on Superman. Then Superman forces GL to use another PB. The Mech fails his attacks. Then Superman forces GL to use another PB. The Mech fails his attack one last time. Superman destroys GL and so the Mech also dissipates into nothingness.

Superman wins with 4 wounds.

That's a cool army test, but, um ... can you really do heavy hitter/squad tests for this one? The Constructs can't really be played without Hal, or another, yet to be finalized GL.

I just wanted to jump into the Army test cause I couldn't wait to see Hal summon that huge Mech and then start blasting. It was a lot of fun. Also, it was nice to use Hal's Power Shield for his own Construct, I thought it was a cool thematic flare as though the Mech suddenly had a giant force field bubble around him. It was cool.

The thing is, the squads and the HH tests are really more about nailing down cost than anything else, so I was just gonna throw it up on the board and run it, but I see your point. Perhaps we should request each Playtester run 3 army tests only for this guy. That seems right.
