To be frank, I like the idea of more games but like the dynamic that the 9 games setup provides. Largely indifferent on which way though.

5 for 9, 3 for whatever. Doesn't sound like enough left to be pro 14 even if there was a major push. I'll leave it open for today, but I'm assuming we'll go 9.

If people don't want to do a lot of games, we could easily do just 7 games by not playing our other division members twice.

We did 10 games last season just fine. I'd personally rather this continue to feel like a league, not a tournament. 7 games is too short, IMO.

Next order of business is to name our Conferences and Divisions, and talk about playoffs.

As for playoffs, here would be my suggestion:

Top six records go to the playoffs, regardless of conference or division. Top two finishers get a first round bye.

The other four teams play a one game Wildcard round, with the best record of them hosting the fourth best record, and the the second best record of them hosting the third best record.

The winners of those proceed to a best of three playoff against the two teams that had byes, with those top two teams having a Home, Away, Home (if necessary) schedule.

Then the winners of the semi-finals go onto a Championship round that's another best of three with the same approach.
