A request for help

Any many of you have seen with my first two maps, I am incapable of thinking small when it comes to mapbuilding. And since I want to try running a small tournament with my friends in a few weeks, I need some 1-on-1 map ideas for them.

Here's what I have available for building materials:

4 RotV
2 SotM
2 RttFF
2 VW
2 TT
2 FotA
1 Marvel

I also have the following extra terrain from expansions, incase you need some filler:

8 2-hex Grass
6 2-hex Rock
9 1-hex Rock
6 2-hex Sand
5 1-hex Sand
24 2-hex Snow

Ideally, I'd like the following map configurations, BoV style:

Theme - Materials
Hot Springs - 1 RotV + 1 SotM + 1 VW
Onset of Winter - 1 RotV + 1 SotM + 1 TT
Ruined City - 1 RotV + 1 RttFF + 1 FotA + 1 Marvel
Arctic Volcano - 1 RotV + 1 RttFF + 1 VW + 1 TT

They don't need to be perfectly balanced or symmetrical, so long as neither team has a blatant advantage over the other, I'll be happy.

Don't worry about special scenarios.

Thanks in advance!

Check Nadi's maps. Excellent for tourneys they be. You might find something you need for your gathering.

Thanks, Caco... though, I don't have many maps that require the sets that he's looking for. Let me see if I can throw a few together for you, Techno... and maybe from there, you might like what you see.

Here's my first attempt at a map (Hot Springs) using the pieces that you had listed for that particular map. Not sure how well it will fit your fancy here. (Still only my second lava map out of 80+ maps. LOL.)

Skipping Stones - 1RotV, 1RtFF, 1VW

You can always make the incentive to go into the lava by putting glyphs in there or making it a scenario goal or something. I put the stones in there as places for people to 'rest their feet' to get off the fire terrain, but you can always remove those if they don't fit what you want to do with the map.

For Arctic Volcano, check out this map of mine:

The Molten Peak - Building instruction.

If it suits you, I'll provide the building instruction .

Only if you don't mind lava next to ice, because some people do . I said think of it as the battle is on a growing glacial volcano (real-time-playing ?! ), but not everyone likes the idea. I hate them! No, kidding! I don't mind at all .
But thanks for liking it!

Nadi: Skipping Stones is nice, but I wanted it to use a Swarm of the Marro set, not a Road set.

Long: I like the Molten Peak! I'd love to have building instructions for it, if you wouldn't mind.

Draco: The city looks very nice. Though the filename and odd filetype threw me off a bit.

Thanks a lot, guys. I really appreciate it.

Ok, Techno... I think I got the set requirements to this one RIGHT.

Polar Ridge - (1RotV, 1TT, 1SotM)

That's my first map ever using the Thaelenk Tundra set. So... I'm not exactly sure if that will work out like I had planned for it to. I guess time will tell.
