This week's GameDay is entitled:

"Heroscape Wilder 3: The Rise of Taz" or "SuperBad's Devastating News"

I played a lot of Heroscape games before I had a chance to post this, so I'm sorry that I don't re-call all of the armies and game details.

Game 1: 1-vs-1 - HeroscapeLunatic vs. Taz (Cory)

Taz beats HSLunatic

We got together pre-AZ GameDay and played some HS Friday night. I was pretty jazzed that I would be bringing 4 people down to the valley for a wonderful Sat. of pure Heroscaping. Lo and behold my night would be devastated by a horrible announcement and some...well...typical playing from yours truly. Before we started our first game, the Mrs. informs me that there's a good possibility that SuperBad (her brother) won't be going down with us.
She didn't know why, she just said that he was second-guessing the trip down to Rehlers' house. So Taz and I started a game. Here's the important parts I remember...

HSLunatic chose an army using Cyprien as its leader.

Taz chose an army using Major Q10 as its leader.

A true slobberknocker that came down to a final duel between both armies' leaders, slugging it out on the bridge. Unfortunately, Cyprien wasn't able to dodge a couple of well-timed rocket shots.

Game 2: FFA - HSLunatic vs. Taz vs. SuperBad/Mrs. HSLunatic

Taz over 2 Players

Sorry folks, but the army contents for this one eluded my memory. All I know is that SuperBad dropped a bombshell on us and set the tone for the rest of the game.

The game started as a FFA with HSLunatic, Taz, and SuperBad.

As we were playing, I cornered SuperBad asking him if he was going to attend the AZ GameDay at Rehlers' house. He responded with a "no" and when asked "why?" he floored both me and Taz.

He wasn't going down with us because he had come down with the worst kind of illness known to man. Something so devastating to the heart that if left unchecked it could cripple a person in a matter of days. Unfortunately there hasn't been a cure found for it, so SuperBad had no idea what the outcome of it would be.


SuperBad had been diagnosed with being in love with a girl.




After that, Taz and I had a hard time keeping our minds on the game. About the middle of the game, SuperBad had to leave, and Mrs. HSLunatic filled in for him. Not about to let his friend's sad news get the best of him, Taz seized the moment and wiped out the Lunatics.

Game 3: FFA - HSLunatic vs. Mrs. HSLunatic vs. Taz

Mrs. Lunatic wanted to change the mood of the night and asked to play another game. Like any Heroscape lunatic would do, I decided not to let my ridiculous number of losses get the best of me.

HSLunatic chose an army of Glads/Blastatrons, Guilty McCreech, Raelin, and Major X17.

Mrs. HSLunatic chose Roman Archers, Ninjas of the NW, Einar Imperium and a few others.

Taz had an Esenwein family reunion, Ornak, and one or two others I can't recall.

In the end, Mrs. HSLunatic's Ninjas proved to be the MVPs of the game, using them to down almost all of the Esenweins and large majority of the Soulborgs at my disposal. Cyprien was used as target practice by the Roman Archers, as in one shot, 4 arrows found their mark and left him bleeding like a stuck pig. The Rechets made a rare appearance and with the aid of Marcu, deactivated Major X17.

What a night...

That's ok SuperBad, we'll still be here for you with our Heroscape, even if you do get your heart broken....

HSL, another rough day of battles? I'm looking forward to the big day on Jan 1, should be a lot of fun.

Hey Madster, Vangaurd and I were talking about the rankings you keep and we have a suggestion. For the new year, how about lets break up the rankings into 3 categories:

1) 1v1 games
2) 2v2 team games
3) everything else

You could also combine 2 and 3 as far as I'm concerned. The main thing would be to get the 1v1 games out separately. Those big 6-man free-for alls ended up giving 1 person a W and 5 people an L.

Thoughts?

I agree completely. I think that would be a much more accurate way of reporting it.
