Which if these options against Q9 + Raelin?

If you had to pick one of the following, to counter an opponent fielding Q9 and Raelin (ROTV), which would you pick:

1. Nilfheim + Rats x 2
2 Sujoah + Spiders x 2


In both cases, the strategies would be similar. Send Sujoah/Nilfheim to take out Raelin, while the spiders/rats keep Q9 engaged. Once Raelin is out, go after Q9.

I can see advantages to both.

Advantages of Nilfheim/Rats:

- Nilfheim would kill Raelin quicker then Sujoah
- Nilfheim is better against Q9 then Sujoha
- Rats have a much better defense then the spiders and would be more likely to last longer against Q9.


Advantages of Sujoah/Spiders:

- The spiders bond with Sujoha so you could be more efficient with your order markers
- The spiders have a better chance of inflicting damage then the rats (since, unlike the rats, they get activated every turn)
- Chance at entagled web.

So, which would you choose?

Nilfheim and Rats is usually understood to be the more competitive choice, but I'd be happy to try either.

I'd personally take the Sujoah/Spiders combo.

We do acknowledge that there exist many more hero killer combos other than the two listed. But his question was between those two.

Nilfheim and rats seems to be the better choice. Is there a reason that you want these as opposed to a different choice like stingers and/or Krug?

No particular reason, just what I was thinking of at the time.

I assume that with Krug and Stingers, the idea would be for Krug to keep Q9 engaged while the Stingers take out Raelin, is that right? That seems like a pretty good plan, although, since Krug is only a single character, the Q9 player might choose to risk a disengagement each round to go after the stingers.

That's the general plan. Since Q9 only has 4 lives, Q9 takes a chance disengaging from Krug. Even if Q9 disengages from Krug, the Stingers should take out Raelin pretty quickly and Stingers are a match for Q9.

Sujoah's attack of 4 is really not enough to break through Q9's iron plating. And the spiders die way faster than the roborats.

Well, after a bit of playtesting, I've found another good counter for Q9 + Raelin which hasn't yet been mentioned in this thread.

I'm talking about... Jotun!

Jotun regularly beats Q9 (even when boosted by Raelin AND height), and has plenty of life leftover to go after Raelin next.
