Thanks Ark! Didn't expect to see such a huge swing with a 1 defense drop, but the reasoning makes sense. These guys live or die by the blanks rolled.

Would people be good to dropping to, say, 135 each? I could run a couple tests this weekend to hopefully finish them up.

Yep 135 seems reasonable based on this change. I agree that dropping one attack or one defense here was gonna be a big change either way, Whirlwind Assault is really good too when you can utilize it, so -1 attack would have had a similar effect. Probably not quite as drastic.

Spoiler Alert!

Round 1: Wrecking Crew faces off against the Tornado Twins. The Twins put 3 wounds on Wrecker, while dodging the Crew’s attacks.

Round 2: Cap wounds Bulldozer, then Wrecker kills Don and Bulldozer wounds Cap. Dawn puts 2 wounds on Piledriver. Piledriver puts 2 wounds on Dawn.

Round 3: Dawn shrugs off a couple more attacks before Wrecker takes her out. Cap puts a couple wounds on Bulldozer.

Round 4: Cap takes out Bulldozer. Wrecker takes out Bucky. The rest of this game is just a slugfest and the Tornado Twins are already dead, so you’re just getting a summary from here on.

Rounds 5+: Cap takes out Thunderball. Piledriver takes out Cap. Nightcrawler takes out Piledriver. Nightcrawler dodges everything to take out Wrecker and win.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Nightcrawler (2 wounds) wins.

The Twins didn’t do much here, but they served an effective distraction keeping Cap alive for longer. The Wrecking Crew had some terrible d20 rolls this game.

Round 1: Titans and Tornado Twins meet. The Twins deal Raven a wound, but she soul selfs it back to Don.

Round 2: Cap and Bucky bring Starfire to 4 wounds. The Twins dodge the Titans and take out Starfire. Raven soul selfs to kill Don. Cyborg puts 2 wounds on Cap.

Round 3: The Titans take out Bucky. Cap and the Titans duke it out.

Round 4: Cap wounds Cyborg heavily before Raven finishes him. Dawn puts 2 wounds on Nightwing and one on Raven.

Round 5: Dawn wounds Nightwing and Raven before falling. Nightcrawler takes out Cyborg. Nightcrawler kills Nightwing.

Round 6: Raven gets the kill on Nightcrawler for the win.


Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Raven (3 wounds) wins.

The Tornado Twins did some decent damage here, but it was a fairly balanced match throughout.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: They seem solid at 135 each (total of 270). Definitely lose their strength once one of them falls, but at least after that they still have Whirlwind Attack and are general annoyances so they have some use.

I'm pretty happy with the change to 3 defense and feel like they're pretty close at 135 points each. They're a design that burns fast on offense (dying fairly quickly on defense) and forces the enemy to switch up their positioning a bit to avoid lots of attacks from Whirlwind Assault.

I'll propose to Final Editing, though if people think we need more testing I'm happy to wait.

Yea. They were clearly too good at 150 with 4 defense so I think the change to 3 defense and 135 points is a good one.
