I personally prefer to roll any type of dice just once as opposed to over and over. That can get boring for all parties.

I agree. But it's only once per game. It'll be fun if it's a big hit for your figures. You'll on the edge of your seat to see if your heavy hitter gets whacked with a bolt of lightning.

I kind of agree and would even suggest that if it were a Special Attack, you roll it once for all parties... with no chance of defense. Or, each defending figure rolls 1 defense die and all shields block all wounds.

Sounds complicated to force on a defense die to each figure but you'd get the one attack roll averaging 2 wounds (max of 4) and then each figure has a 33% chance of ignoring... 66% chance of feeling the pain. It would then satisfy Balantai's power level concern.

Personally, I like the limitation on the power where he has to attack all adjacent figures. It will keep Thor out on his own and away from Captain America. It's a fun little strategic element to Thor's card.

I originally suggested it to GreyOwl as a special attack, I think, when we discussed ideas for Thor in a wave a while ago, but I think he wasn't a fan of two special attacks on the card.
Anyway, I think it certainly works as a special power and I like that we'd be putting a special power on a card. We tend to throw tons of special attacks on cards, but special powers that do damage are a lot rarer, so I like having more of them around for variety.

Agreed. And it's good to give this guy a limitation somewhere. And that's the way to balance out the fact that he can use a ranged attack when he's engaged ... he can't use it when he's not engaged.

I just don't see the theme is this. He's not using the adjacent figures to throw the hammer. He's just ignoring their well-being.

I really don't like the defense of the 1 shield aspect though. I see that it is designed for some balancing issues, but thematically it just doesn't make any sense to me. (OMG, did I just say that?)
