Not really. When you place an order through Amazon for one of their partners, it gets transmitted immediately (well, within 10 minutes or so, typically) to the partner, Amazon charges your card (which is technically illegal, but, hey, they're Amazon), and then they promptly forget all about you. Trust me, having been on the receiving end of this process for a couple years now, I'm intimately familiar with it (to my neverending disgust).
