The scape value thread.
Ok, so I, while rarely if ever trading often check the trading thread. Oftentimes, when I want to make an offer, I'm hesitant to do it because I don't want to make an unreasonable deal. I often wish that more people would post what they want for it. Also, I don't want new people getting screwed on deals like these.
So, I present to you... THE SCAPE VALUE THREAD So, go on, ask questions about value for more experienced scapers to answer. (And of course don't be hesitant to ask if a trade is fair) |

Re: The scape value thread.
I think Auggie's sale and buy site are a good estimate of prices. What I posted when Auggie first started selling:

Re: The scape value thread.
In my case I am willing to pay $10 for a small expansion, $20 for a terrain/large hero expansion $30 for Marvel/FotA/D&D and $40 for RotV/SotM, give or take.

I fail to see how this thread benefits people. Folks should just check out the RRP, what it's available for from online stores and eBay, and then their own personal budget and figure out what they are willing to pay based on the combination of all those factors. All these factors could change on a monthly basis. If that means missing out, so be it. CRC |

Re: The scape value thread.
The original recommended retail price? This doesn't seem like it would accurately reflect increases in value due to scarcity of out of print scape items. Or am I misinterpreting the reference to RRP? Is it meant to apply only to those items still in print and/or readily available?
Personally, I use Auggies to asses value. Although I may start using abprices.com as well. I think a fair deal for either party is 100% of the BUY price + actual shipping. This is what I base my offers on. Of course this is just my opinion. As pointed out, a fair deal is the one that both parties agree on. |

I did not know about that site - now I do. Great link!

Jeez, I just checked it and the first 2 'store' links aren't even for the right thing either. And also, to be entirely fair, auggie needs to make money on what he buys, so he's not necessarily looking for an equal trade, but not saying it isn't fair. |

Re: The scape value thread.
I certainly wasn't criticizing Auggie's business model, if anything he is one of the most generous used goods merchants I've ever encountered. It's common to only give 10-30% of your retail price when buying. Auggie's is much higher than that.
