Parts Department--Sneak peak at what's in the works

I know we already have the trading thread and if this is totally inappropriate please feel free to lock it, but I thougt a thread exclusively for custom terrain builders to ask for materials would be a welcome addition.

With that being said I am looking for 2 things...

1-the Blue screw off caps that come on bottles of Nesquik

2-Cofee stirrers...the kind that are a round or square stick with a flat end on one side.

If you need pics i will gladly find them and add them.

If anyone can gather some of these for me i will be glad to pay for you to ship them to me.

Thanks.

just courious but what are you making with them... and as far as the caps ... do they have to be blue.. or can they be any color.... I understand that you use nesquick caps but aren't they all pretty much the same...I drink a lot of bottled h2o like a case a week so I could save them up for you but they are clear...does that make a big difference... because if you are painting them its all the same... as far as the coffee stirrers why don't you go to 7-11 and just take a handfull or so .. they won't mind...

The caps from the Nesquik bottles are not like a water bottle twist off. They are a different shape...as fa as the stirrers go...none of the places near be that I frequent for coffee have those types of stirrers

The coffee stirrers have an end that looks like the one on the left.

Ok still need the Nestles caps but I also need to know if anyone can make metal hexes?

I actually need one made in each of these sizes

1-hex
2-hex
3-hex
7-hex

I would like them to be about 1/4 inch thick...if you can do this let me know.

Real Metal? - Or something that looks metal?

Why metal?

Magnetic Requirements? then aluminum wont work.. etc...

Yes real metal...does not matter what kind (cheapest would be best)...basically what I want to do (if possible) is have them welded to metal rods i can clamp into my bench vice. I will be using them as templates for custom terrain so I can file down to the exact size without ruining real hexes with file/sanding marks

It would be far cheaper to ruin the hexes

If you were to CNC them, youd have to pay some one about $40 or more an hour to do the G-Code or CAM data... then pay for machine time.

But it can be done... (the cnc and cam stuff is what I am supose to be learning at school, but still feel like I dont know crap).

Also... I can make custom hexes out of plastic far cheaper... any 3D cad model... I just hit print and take it out of the machine a few hours later.

Another alternative if you had access to a kiln and casting tools... is you could sacrifice the plastic piece to make a plaster mold and cast it out of copper...
