The Book of The Doctor (11th)

So I don't know a lot...ok anything, about Dr Who. But I've seen discussions about different Doctors and this is obviously the 11th. I also noticed there is no Secret ID here. Is that intentional that they other Doctors cannot be played together or is this just the only one without a S.I.?

They usually only appear one at a time.

They're all technically the same person, but with a different face and body and at a different point in their timeline. Since he's a time traveler, there have been some notable instances of overlap, but they are rare and few and far between.

There was discussion, but we opted for a simpler route, since he doesn't really have an SI (at least not one anyone knows).

Cool. Now I know. Seems like a clever way to cast a TV show since if there's ever an issue with the actor you just...change the Doctor's face.

Except James bond was suppose to be the exact same character...This guy you said had a different face and such.

Sure. Doctor Who at least has rationale for the change in features.

Yeah it’s totally an artifice they came up with to keep the show running when the lead actor couldn’t do it anymore. Still, it’s fun and leads to a lot of creativity; Each Doctor has their own personality, quirks, and way of doing things which helps give the character new things to do.

There was a lot of debate, but ultimately I decided not to use SIs for the following reasons;
1) A multi-Doctor story is traditionally an event. (Probably comparable to a Crisis in DC or something like that.) To that end, I’m working on a draft for an Event Hero that’ll let you draft multiple Docs. (A pair-a-Docs even!)
2) While the Doctor has easily numbered incarnations, other Time Lords like the Doctor’s archenemy the Master do not. So if we ever wanted to expand to other TLs it would be really difficult to figure out SIs for them.
