How many points is too many?

Or better yet, how many squad/hero's is too much?

I wanted to create a campaign with some friends that involved building thematic armies around the new Marvel Heroes (IE Cap is in a mostly Soldier army). But I found myself with some armies having a LOT of units (cap's) but the mostly monster group led by the hulk only had 3 high point cost figs.

When trying to play these armies will it really work out to have something like a few high point figs go up against a lot of 50-110 point ones?

The game I'm going to be running will have 4 people playing different armies. The Idea was each player gets 2 armies with the losing 2 player in the end drafting the last 2 armies for the final few battles.
