I changed the Division names in the Indy Conference to better reflect the two publishers with the most completed LDs.
Next up is the schedule.
Spoiler Alert!
Last year I found it really helpful to have about two week phases in which people could complete two games, rather than enforcing one game per week, as this gave people more flexibility to schedule and get games in, especially accounting for when they happened to have a busy week or unexpected obstacles.
Then we did free agency periods between each phase. So I would propose the following adjustments to japes’ schedule, with the included dates:

As with last year, you’d be awarded points for each phase you completed by the deadline. This would act as a tie-breaker as needed. If folks go over the deadline, I’d rather they still complete the game if possible rather than forfeiting, but forfeitures would be the next option.
For free agency, you would have until 11:59 p.m. EST on the first day of the free agency period to submit your free agency request, then japes would have the rest of the period to process the free agency requests.
ALL-STAR SELECTIONS AND GAME
Spoiler Alert!
Between Phase 3 and 4 there will be an All-Star break, where the top team in every division will be invited to attend a 4 player All-Star game (if a player isn’t interested, the next player in the division will get invited instead).
The game will be a four player free for all on a four player map. The game is exhibition, played exclusively for fun, and attendance is fully optional. There’s no impact on season standings.
In order to create All-Star rosters, after each regular season game, players will agree upon an MVP of their game. A third League participant can act as tie-breaker if the two players cannot agree on an MVP of the game.
After the completion of Phase 3, each Division leader will participate in a 10 round Snake Draft, with the player with the highest record drafting first, and so on from there, until the player with the lowest record. Once each player drafts a 10 figure roster, they will individually prepare a 1000 point army for the game.
This would lead us to the playoffs.
Spoiler Alert!
PLAYOFFS
Six teams qualify for the playoffs (Each division winner and the non-division winner in each conference with the best record)
Conference Winners get a Bye
Remaining division winners host the remaining team in their conference in a one game Wildcard round
Wildcard winners play the conference winner from their conference in a best of three semi-final round. The schedule for this is Conference Winner Home, Away, Home
Semi-final winners play in a best of three Championship Round. The remaining team with the best record plays Home, then Away. A potential tie-breaking game is played on Green Lantern Mogo.
Hey folks! After the success of the C3G TTS Tournament I felt there was an appetite for more C3G online play on Tabletop Simulator (TTS). Since I share that appetite, I thought it might be fun to have an official C3G TTS Super League that played different competitive Seasons over the course of a year. My basic thought was to combine a lot of the core concepts of fantasy sports leagues in terms of transactions and so forth, with the actual gameplay of C3G Superheroscape.
Below are the echoes of my madness. Tell me what you think and, more importantly, if you're into it, now's the time to sign up! I'm thinking mid-May for the start of our first Season if we get enough interest.
LEAGUE RULES AND OUTLINE
Spoiler Alert!
LEAGUE GOALS
Spoiler Alert!
The goal of the C3G TTS Super League is to organize online playtesting and play of C3G Superheroscape on Tabletop Simulator and to foster a fun and competitive environment.
Ideally the Super League would sustain at least four active Teams of two to three players each, and would compete in three to four competitive Seasons per year.
The C3G TTS Super League takes all the transactional fun of Fantasy Sports games and applies them to the best sport of all: Superheroscape!
PLAYERS AND HOME FIELDS
Spoiler Alert!
At the onset of the Super League’s formation, before assembling their initial rosters, players will roll initiative, then, in initiative order, they will draft one competitive C3G Map to be their Home Field. Players will play any Home Games on their Home Field and are responsible for maintaining access to their Home Field on TTS so they can either host their Home Games or give opponents access to their Home Field for the sake of hosting.
All terrain on battlefields that can be destructible objects are considered to be the relevant C3G destructible objects (trees, ruins, etc.).
Having a Home Field from the onset allows Players to strategize and build around the unique features and advantages of their main battlefield. This also guarantees a diversity of battlefields over the course of the league year, as you'll be playing on opponent fields as well as your own.
ROSTER BUILDING AND TRANSACTIONS
Spoiler Alert!
Each Player will maintain a roster of no more than 12 C3G Army Cards over the course of each Season of play.
Rosters are initially built up through a 12 round draft at the start of season one (shortened to 11 rounds in subsequent seasons), then can be adjusted through the year with Free Agency acquisitions and Trades between Players.
THE DRAFT
Spoiler Alert!
The initial Super League Draft will consist of 12 snaking rounds, in the opposite order of Home Field drafting.
If a Player drafts any Army Card, only they have access to that card on their roster and if it is Common or Uncommon, they’re considered to have access to unlimited copies of that card. (Non-figure cards must be drafted like any other Army Cards, but Spell Cards can be added freely when army building).
Subsequent Drafts will only consist of 11 rounds, due to the Keeper rule (see Keepers).
FREE AGENCY
Spoiler Alert!
Rather than being stuck with their 12 card roster during a Season, Players may use Free Agency and Trades to adjust their line ups. Every time there is a new C3G Release (not including public releases) it will initiate a Free Agency Period. Free agency periods will start on the dates listed on the schedule and players will have 24 hours to submit free agency requests to the commissioner, japes.
During this 24 hour period, any Player may privately submit up to 5 add/drop requests to the Super League Commissioner. Add/drop requests involve choosing one Army Card on the Player’s current roster to drop and one unclaimed Army Card to add.
After the 24 hour Free Agency Period has ended, the Commissioner will process all add/drop requests in reverse Player ranking (meaning the Player with the worst record gets their first request processed first and the Player with the best record gets their first request processed last).
Each Player’s first request is processed in this order, then each Player’s second request is processed in this order, and so on, until all requests have been processed.
If two or more Players have tied records, that season's draft order will be used to break the tie, with the person who drafted last getting first priority and so forth.
Once any of your free agency requests have been processed and approved, you should record any changes in your roster and in your free agency adds and drops for that period (both on the Google spreadsheet) in order to make the changes official.
TRADES
Spoiler Alert!
Trades are another way Players can change their line-ups during the Season. Trades can occur at any time during a Season, up until the scheduled trade deadline. Trades can be any combination of one or more Army Cards on one Player’s roster for any combination of one or more Army Cards on another Player’s roster.
Multiple Player trades can occur as well, following the same logic.
If a Player would end up with more than 12 Army Cards on their Roster upon the completion of a trade, they must first drop a number of Army Cards required to get them down to 12 in order to complete the trade.
Once all Players involved in a trade agree upon the trade, the trade should be sent into the Commissioner for approval.
Once the Commissioner approves the trade, if he does, you should record any changes in your roster and in the trade tab (both on the Google spreadsheet) in order to make the changes official.
SEASONS
Spoiler Alert!
A Season is a competitive grouping of games between players that culminates in a Playoffs and a Championship. Each Season consists of each player playing an equal number of Home Games and an Away Games.
For the first season, we have 9 teams, so we are divided into three divisions of three. Each division plays its division foes twice (both home and away) for a total of four games, then plays one of the divisions in only home games (three games) and the other division in only away games (three games) for a total of ten games over the season (five home, and five away).
In order to keep the season progressing, there will be five "checkpoints" during the season. By the time each "checkpoint" arises, players should have played the match ups listed on their schedule. Players are awarded a separate category of "points" for completing their match ups on time, which are used as a potential tie-breaker in order to incentivize schedule completion.
If completing games reliably becomes a problem, the Commissioner (japes) has the authority to think up other disciplinary action, including removing a player from the League as necessary.
See updates for season 2 scheduling.
GAMES
Spoiler Alert!
Each game will be played on the Home Team Player’s Homefield. Each game must consist of armies with point totals of 1,000, 1,100, 1,200, or 1,300, as chosen by the Home Team.
Both players secretly build an army from their roster and bring it to the match. This can be done by assembling cards and figures into a "bag" on TTS and then bringing the "bag" onto the battlefield when it's time for the game. Each player then pulls their army out of the bag at the same time to reveal it.
PLAYER STANDINGS
Spoiler Alert!
Standings are based on the total number of wins for each player versus their total number of Losses. Points are awarded for each game completed by the assigned checkpoint and are potential tie-breakers.
QUALIFYING FOR THE PLAYOFFS
Spoiler Alert!
sAt the end of each Season, the four players with the best Win/Loss record advance to the Playoffs.
In the case of tied records, head-to-head records will be the first tie-breaker. In the case of a tied head-to-head record, players will have a play-in game to decide the standings.
See updates for new playoff qualifications and playoff scheduling.
PLAYOFFS AND CHAMPIONSHIP
Spoiler Alert!
The Playoffs are played out over two rounds: the initial Wildcard Round and the Championship Round.
The player with the best record is matched up in the Wildcard Round against the player with the fourth best record. The player with the second best record is matched up in the Wildcard Round against the player with the third best record.
The two winners of the Wildcard Round match up in a Championship Round.
Each Round of Playoffs is a best of three, with the higher seed playing a Home Game, then an Away Game, then (if needed) a Home Game.
KEEPERS AND SUBSEQUENT DRAFTS
Spoiler Alert!
At the end of each season, each player may designate one Army Card on their roster as their “Keeper.” This is automatically part of their Roster going into the next season. The same “Keeper” may not be chosen in back-to-back Seasons. This allows players some roster continuity without allowing them to completely dominate a single Army Card or build.
After the initial season, subsequent drafts will be ordered based on player standings, with the last place finishing player picking first and so forth onto the Championship Team. Draft Order for playoff qualifying players will consider the lowest seed eliminated in the Wildcard Round to pick first, followed by the other player eliminated in the Wildcard Round, followed by the player eliminated in the Championship Round, followed by the Championship Team.
The Draft continues until all players have drafted 11 Army Cards to fill out their Roster.
If new players have been added, they will participate in a one round “Expansion Draft” prior to the normal Draft, in which they will select one Army Card to act as their Keeper for the Season. These players will be considered the lowest ranking players in league standings for Draft Order.
