I've gone back and forth on whether to ebay the refinery, though I don't think it will lend itself to ship very well (a bit fragile). |

It Begins...
A piece of 2 x 8 x 1/2 foam plus my plan and I'm ready to get started on the 1st half of the city. Basically made a copy of my plan onto the foam (where to cut). About a 1/2 hour later I have the basic shapes for 5 buildings. I'll probably end up up getting 7 or 8 buildings out of this. Since I'm making a ruined city, there's going to be a lot of hacking off of the walls, which when cut in half (diagonally... sort of) will leave a large enough piece to be a wall for another building. Next step is to cut out all the windows on these pieces... I hate this part. Hopefully another update tomorrow. Last edited by nyys; October 28th, 2022 at 09:21 AM. |

City Project Resurrected!!!!!
It's only been nearly a year since I last worked on this, but the 40K bug has hit me again (helps that I'm playing in a campaign in March) so it's time to get this city done. Building #8 (Supply Depot) I've had this box of chopped up IN/OUT box shelves hanging around for several years. Found them all in the trash room at the job I had before my current one, hacked em up, and saved them for later. Finally... it's later. Same goes for this styro packing, been sitting around for a long time and its time to get some use out of it. Had to get another pic of my electric sander in here, I love this tool. Used it to grind down all the flash leftover from cutting loose the sides of the shelves. Hot glued the shelf walls to the styro and and added some chicken wire fencing to complete the sides for the basic shape. Time for some detailing: Couple of barricades for the roof. Added some stairs to get to said barricades. I still plan to add more details, and of course I still have the 'wreck' it, but this is the basic shape for Building #8. -insert signature here- Last edited by nyys; October 28th, 2022 at 09:48 AM. |
