yeah but i only got 2 squads... in a 410 pt army im using (so far)

Nilfheim 305
and im wondering if i should use Brandis, Syvarris, or Raelin?

FWIW, we had a small tourney and the Orcs (with Nerak and Grimnak) took 1st, a Phantom Knights/Marro Stingers army took 2nd, and two Blast/Glad armies took 3rd and 4th. (5th place was a 2x Fen Hydra army.)

There were no restrictions, 445 pts, all standard tourney rules with mostly BOV (or BOV nominated) maps.

Do you have Charos?

Big C-330
Rae-410

This army has the potential to last darn near forever. If you want to use Nilf, I would still add Rae to make up for only having 2 sqauds.

yeah and i got Charos. i just thought that it might be better if i had a hero that could kill multiple targets in one turn... i might try your way though. thankew

If you would like to discuss competitive armies please use PM or the Competitive Armies Discussion forum. This is for ranking units based on their relative power in the game.

That being said, I hosted the tournament FBD88 was discussing. The Phantom Knights were used in several armies, but to varying degrees of success. The winning army had them, but they were paired with Reavers and Q9 (two awesome units) but they were also in armies that were middle of the road so saying they should be an A/A- might be a bit of a stretch. Also, no one used Braxas or Zelrig in the tourney which I think would have been a problem for the yellow guys.

There was a very nice combo of Ana and Tandros that was used pretty effectively where they were kept together and did a lot of damage as a tandem. Together they might be a B+, but this is the first time I've seen them used and didn't watch any of the matches - use of order markers to keep them together could be an issue because the one match where they were seperated, they got stomped.

New units start to get their grades considered once there is more information on how well they do relative to other units:

At Battle at the Border 3 at least 3 players used the PKs. The first place army had them and I placed 4th. Given this was a scenario event, but the power to get where they were needed and to stay around was what made them shine. I say B+ to A-.
