They were demoing this at GenCon using minis from the old WOTC starship minis game and the wizkids constructibles game.

First, there is a difference between having a license to make a game and outright owning the full rights to a game

Second, Hasbro own the rights to Heroscape, not WotC.

I am not going to get excited about this one. Knowing my luck, FFG will make it in a different scale and everything will be incompatible with what has come before. And besides, I personally don't like aircraft/dogfight simulation games and card games.
