The Book of Kyntela Gwyn
The Book of Kyntela Gwyn If you cannot see the Army Card graphic, check Hasbro's Unit Page for stats and special powers, plus "character biography" and other non-game unit info.Fields of Valor - Collection 7 - "Heroes of Elswin"
Spoiler Alert!
Character Bio:The first thing that strikes Kyntela Gwyn’s foes is her beauty. It is a delicate radiance normally associated with princesses, not warriors. Underestimating Kyntela’s fighting skill has been the downfall of every foe she has faced. Kyntela Gwyn is a slight figure even for an Elf, but her courage to stand in the middle of a raging battle, shoulder to shoulder with other Elven warriors, has earned her supreme respect not given to many others. Kyntela Gwyn comes from a large forest village known for towering oak trees that form a protective deterrence against all assaults. It is from the strength of the oak trees that she acquired her powerful aura that provides her Elven warriors the same protective defense in battle. Kyntela’s slight frame, however, can only absorb so much harm. It was Ullar who rescued her and brought her to Valhalla. He too was struck by her delicate beauty and courageous spirit. Ullar brought Kyntela Gwyn to Valhalla knowing that she would become an indispensable part of his Elven Army. With the Strength of Oak aura, even the strongest of Elves are grateful for her added protection against destructive attacks that can only be encountered on Valhalla. A very boring character. I suppose she'd be a good filler. But I'd much rather have Marcu or Isamu ratehr than her, perhaps even in an all-elf army. SHe doesn't bond with any units and therefore will have a very tough time moving with any units. The aubrien archers move alot when you use them, so she can't keep up. The warriors of ashra also have to move too much to be effective. There aren't any really good stand still elf units. Perhaps with acolarh kyntela would be effective. She just seems liek a big waste of a turn marker, considering she can be brought down in one turn with ease.
She won't be able to earn back her pts hardly ever, she can't move with units, she has to be adjacent, and she has no cool abilities or good stats. A very worthless character IMO. Not even worth her low cost, especially with Isamu and Marcu around. |

Well, if nothing else, you can use her to turn Syvarris into a 120 point figure with 3 defense. She'll probably be best supporting Aubrians and Syvarris on a castle wall.
Also don't forget that in future waves, we're probably going to get more ranged Elves. If they make another Elf with 8+ range, she could probably become very usefull. |

I would just sit her around Sylvarris. That elf doesn't need to move often and he needs stronger defense. Other than that I think she would be a waste of order markers.

I would only use her to stand behind Syvaris or Deadeye Dan. Preferably Syvaris because he'll be a 3 defense/5 life rather than 3 defense/3 life. Other than that, she's very boring and useless.
EDIT: Whoops! I forgot she can only affect Elves so Deadeye Dan is out of the picture. |

I'm really sick of the terrible Elf Wizards. She's ok with the Aubrens and probably worth adding then, but if I want a 3 defense unit that has to sit in one place and fire, I'm probably going to take the 4th Mass for the same points.

I can't see any reason to draft her. She might be useful if you could airlift her around the field with Theracus to archers and Syvarris. But would she really help out the WOA. What it really boils down to, is she worth putting a turn marker on?

Another character that fits into more of a themed army. While shes not terribly amazing she could be useful on a smaller map with Aubrien Archers or Sylvarris.
With Acolarth you could use the extra 2 movement to move her into a good position and then set up Aubrien Archers around her. Of course this also involves your opponent just blindly charging into you. More then likely she'll be used a lot in casual games where the Aubrien Archers are picked more often. Not to much of a competitve card in nature. Grenade lobbyist |
