Maps By Cleon: (Under Construction)

<This thread is under construction, I deleted my first few maps because they were just tests. Soon, once I download the newest Virtualscape and get other preparing requirements, I'll start making and posting maps to the best of my ability. Most if not all of them will be tournament, BoV based maps, but I am not strictly restricting myself to that alone. From now on, I plan to only post maps once they are completely done with all construction, tweaking, and tested and practiced on for a while. I will post a picture or two (however many a map needs to see all of it's aspects, but I'll try to stay at a minimum) of the map and add a download (once I figure out how to and get use to doing it). So stay tuned, and hopefully I'll get my first, carefully made and tested, map up soon!>

You can check this thread, in which it says you can use Paint (comes with Windows) or Photoshop online to convert bmp to jpeg. Hope it helps !

Thanks StarOcean! I was really trying to go for a BOV type of map. I wanted to make it ice because there's only one BOV map that includes ice and I kind of mixed it with the idea of 2 stair-like build up using seven hex for getting to the highest height of the map. I'm not sure if it's BOV worthy because it seems, to me to be slightly cramped. I really like it though.

Yeah I checked out that thread, what a big help. Thanks for posting it. I must have overlooked that part, but I'll definately give it a shot soon. My brother said the you need to buy a converter, and it's a big complex program that takes up a lot of space on your computer. But if it's just a program that already comes with your computer, or a website that converts for free (which I thought it was) then I'll definately try it! Thanks once again LongHeroscaper!

BTW, I love your BOV map - The Broken Skyline, I've played many and have won many good games against my friends and family on it.

I think it looks good.

As for cramped, I can't say. Any small map seems pretty cramped to me. Though that's probably because I'm used to playing on large maps all the time.

What I meant to say before, was I think it's too cramped for certain figures. Nelfhiem comes to mind, but I think in most senerios those bigger, multi attack figures dominate on. But in freezing point there's losts of cover, but still purches for them. So there's still ups and downs to those figures, I think it's a fair map.

Oh. I see. Maybe, but that happens on tons of maps so it's not too big of a deal. I think it's fine. Though in my house we're not too strict on where figures may move through.

When me and my dad play we're very strict about it, because we're training for GenCon 08' right now. Back on topic, I actually only see that it's cramped in the middle section, not the outside or the start zones. But I really like where the glyphs are placed. If it does, some how, get chosen for BOV, it will be the first to have 3 glyphs. But before that I need to figure out how to do the PDF profile, and before that I need to do the pictures so...it won't really be any time soon. :P

Also, I wouldn't know much about strict play on maps. Only because I've never been to a tournament or played with someone else who owns tons of scape.
(Not that there's any tournaments here anyway.)
