I like the idea of gambling for the blank, failing, burning the X, and then taking a 'safer' bet for the second chance and trying for the skull. If you get locked in for both bets, then I'm not sure how often I would try for the blank.

Double down doesn't fit the Black Jack use to a T, but I think it still works because the power forces you to bet a second time when you lose.

Yeah, Double Down is probably still workable as a name. We could really go with something as simple as "ROLL THE DICE" for a name - something that generally represents taking a risk.

Roll the Dice was my 2nd option, so I'm ultimately down for either. Both are cool and get the gambling theme across.

Double Down is a cool name for a gambling character. We could channel Superior Spider-Man's catchphrase that came out of no where and use "The Die is Cast!"

Currently it seems a bit too risky, especially for anything other than a skull. If there was a way to tilt the odds in his favor a little more, but I'm not exactly sure how to. I dig the power though in general.

Zatanna II can make the gamble on a blank a little safer. It's all part of the Expanded Arkham Magicverse.

Had to double check that combo. The d20 needed by Zatanna helps mitigate my concerns there. Makes for a nice army build concept, hopefully you can pull it off at least once before one of the two go down.

    No, unless there's an ultra-powerful Mystery Man/Protege to be designed, but even then, its only 2 life.
