it should refer to the fact that HS is really played on all 3 dimensions, as opposed to many miniature games that are in fact played on a near flat surface. but I'm not sure if the link is obvious.

Or I can just use my son's official Heroscape 3D Glasses that he got in October 2006 . It was a Heroscape promotion and the glasses were cut out from an advertisement page in the magazines "National Geographic for Kids" and "Sports Illustrated for Kids". The glasses were to be used to view a 3D Heroscape commercial (webisode) that would soon air on Cartoon Network.
