how about a set of lights that they sell for those "Christmas Villages"
I have a set of 50 LED ones that run on 2 AA batteries and are also AC adaptable. they are by LEMAX and the "connecting" wires would also make good "decor" for the outside of the tower. The battery box could be mounted on the side of the box and decorated as well. they don't blink - but they would light up. Oh BTW have you checked out http://www.evilmadscientist.com/arti.../mobiuscircuit It might give you ideas of something you could do for your box. .... Reality is for people who lack imagination.
