I remember thinking they looked pretty good when they came out, but I don't have the minis or card so I can't say how they play live. It's true I have'nt seen them used in any play tests, but I don't see Hercules used in play tests either yet he's pretty sweet. Some units just aren't very good fits for 800-1000 point synergy heavy games. I've been trying to mix up my own set of play testing figures of late, but it is hard to not grab certain units when trying to break a design.

I am so excited to see Godzilla in C3G. I am a fan of Godzilla and Ultraman and I hope this leads to more Godzilla monsters in C3G and the various Ultramen as well. I see a lot of potential there. quozl, I sent you a PM because I would like to playtest Godzilla as a Destroyer with the Thunderers.

I think Destroyer fits him best, both from the majority of the movies and in the current design of the card. Even when he is portrayed as a protector, he tends to "protect" because it allows him to "destroy" the other monsters. If Destroyer is not balanced, I could also see him as a Fighter, but I am not sure of all the synergies that might open up with other C3G units.

Welcome. Love the passion. I think that is one of the best aspects of C3G expanding out is that we are able to hit characters people really enjoy that may not fit into the standard cape and cowl format.
I have a few Kaiju write-ups. I really want a Mothra figure!

Preamble: The year is 1963 and the Avengers have only recently formed, just coming out victorious from their first battle against the Norse God Loki. Godzilla had, last we saw, taken a tumble against the mighty King Kong and has now returned wrecking havoc. The newly formed Avengers are on the case, but this foray may be too much for the aspiring super team to handle.

Round 1: Initiative Gojira, who stomps on towards the Avengers and gets 1st charge. A Short Ruin is destroyed on the way by WoD. Hulk leaps on ahead to wear Godzilla down. Godzilla stomps over Hulk and misses a WoD unblockable. G-Lizard then attacks Hulk, but rolls all shields. 2nd Charge. Hulk takes a high ground spot, remaining adjacent and his attack is easily defended against. Godzilla moves up and through Hulk and Hulk takes 1 wound from WoD . Godzilla attack misses and 3rd charge. Hulk deals 1 wound to Godzilla.

Round 2: Avengers Initiative. Hulk leaps away taking 1 engagement wound to avoid KotM. Godzilla moves and 4th charge. Wasp moves adjacent to Zilla and misses. Godzilla moves through all the Avengers and deals 1 wound to Hulk and 1 wound to IM with WoD. Godzilla attacks Iron Man and destroys him. Thor moves and attacks, but Godzilla blocks. GZilla walks through the Avengers and deals 1 to Thor. A tree is knocked down and deals 1 wound to Hulk. Godzilla attacks Wasp dealing 1 wound and Wasp falls.

Round 3: Avengers Initiative. Hulk hits Zilla for nothing. Godzilla using KotM, hits Hulk for 3 wounds. Hulk hits for 4 wounds. Godzilla kills Hulk with 3 wounds from KotM. Thor hits Godzilla for 2 wounds. Godzilla hits Thor for 2 wounds with KotM.

Round 4: Gojira Initiative. KotM deals 2 more wounds. Thor risks and luckily does not take an engagement strike to avoid another 10 attack dice from KotM. Thor tries GoTS and rolls an 8, missing. Godzilla moves adjacent and uses Atomic Breath. Thor blocks three skulls, but takes 2 wounds from the last. 1st Charge. Thor hits Godzilla for 4 wounds. Godzilla kills Thor with KotM.

Notes: There weren’t really any opportunities that made Atomic Breath preferable to normal attack, but I only ran four heroes. Regardless, Godzilla annihilated the Avengers.

Preamble: The King Of The Monsters ends up in a tangle with the leader of the Autobots and two of the best monster hunters in the biz.

Round 1: Godzilla moves first and smashes the Short Ruin. 1st Charge. Optimus moves. Godzilla moves and attacks Optimus, dealing 2 wounds. 2nd Charge. Hellboy moves and rolls a three with Good Samaritan doing nothing. Godzilla’s KotM is defended by Prime. 3rd Charge. Blade moves, misses the first attack, then deals 2 with the second attack with Prime’s LtC having added one to his attacks.

Round 2: Gojira Initiative. KotM deals 3 to Prime. 4th Charge. OP deals 4 damage with One Shall having added two attack dice. Godzilla deals 3 to Prime and finishes him. Blade moves seven spaces from Blood Tracking to high ground and with that deals 2 then 4, for a total of 6 wounds. Godzilla knocks a tree down on Hellboy for 1 wound. Godzilla uses Atomic Breath and it hits Hellboy for 2 and misses Blade. 1st Charge. Hellboy adds two dice for Huge and deals 4 wounds.

Round 3: Godzilla Initiative. WoD through Hellboy and Blade and deals 1 wound to Blade. Hellboy blocks Godzilla’s attack. 2nd Charge. Hellboy deals 2 wounds to Godzilla. Godzilla rolls no skulls with KotM. 3rd Charge. Hellboy deals 1 wound. KotM deals 2 wounds to Hellboy. 4th Charge. Blade kills Godzilla on the second attack.

Notes: Optimus’s One Shall Stand really messes with Wake Of Destruction and keeps Godzilla stalled up for incoming attacks. This team worked very well overall against Godzilla. The monster hunters lived up to expectations and worked surprisingly well with Prime.

THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT'S COST, BALANCE, & DRAFTABILITY: Solid giant monster, everything it should be. Makes for shorter games against smaller armies, so keep that in mind. Very variable gameplay, so cost is hard to gauge. Quite fun though.

GENERAL THOUGHTS ON THE TESTED UNIT: Really good synergy and high power ranged figures are basically a necessity against this behemoth. I probably would have done some ranged squads and maybe the Teen Titans if I tried it again. I’d expect there is a lot more opportunity to use Atomic Breath against squad heavy teams, but it wasn’t used much here.

Looking pretty solid. Not sure about the initial without looking back, but that's 2-2 in public testing. He's inevitably going to be swinging with the amount of attack dice he slings, but 1,000 is feeling good, IMO.
