Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Yes. Any thoughts on the best approach for that?
C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
The rules look good to me. Why would you want to limit walking off an elevator onto stairs?

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Do you know of any elevators that have doors that open directly into a stairwell?

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Every elevator I've used has a door to the stairwell right next to it.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Guess it's a non-issue, then, as the concern was specifically a thematic one. If folks don't want it to happen, they can always place their stairs and elevators separate from each other, since my current thinking is to go with glyph-like tiles you can place over terrain to mark stairs, elevator shaft spaces, and doorways.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
OK, I think what I'll do later then is to dig up our terrain template and start an official thread for the Skyscraper.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Yea I guess if the stairs weren't directly adjacent to the elevator it wouldn't be an issue.
EDIT: Vehicle rules state you have to exit to an empty space, maybe we just state the stairs don't count as empty spaces so people can't get thrown on them and stuff. |

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
I'm against not being able to throw people down the stairs.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
Depends on if the throw power has a clear sight restriction, I think.

Re: Bookshelf Skyscraper Brainstorming
The bookshelves were easy enough to line up on one edge where I made the front set of steps. Then the space between the two buildings seemed to be easy enough to fill in with hexes as well. However the final back side edge didn't line up well enough for a set of steps there, but that was because we were using two different play mats as the base. The two mats didn't line up their hexes perfectly, it seemed the hexes were slightly different sizes, and I know for a fact that my play mat hexes do not line up perfectly with hexes placed on top of them. It's slightly off on the measurements.
Which reminds me, if you were to build the base floor of the map with hexes while leaving a hole in the map for the bookshelf to drop into, all the floor levels would be 1 level lower than what we played them at with the flat game mats as the base level. Might be worth checking for one of you who has the bookshelf in had to see if you can surround the bookshelf in interlocking hexes without needing to put a layer of hexes under the bookshelf itself. |
