Mister Fantastic moves up with Wasp and Invisible Woman.
Martian Manhunter drives himself and Oracle forward, then fails to dispatch anyone.
Mister Fantastic moves up with Human Torch, Iceman, and Thing.
Martian Manhunter drives the car forward, but can’t get into attack range. He manages to get Red Arrow in the car with Green Arrow.
Mister Fantastic goes. Wasp stings the Blue Sports Car for a wound and Human Torch scorches it for two more. Mister Fantastic moves adjacent to the car, but can’t finish it.

Round 2: Initiative Fantastic Four. Mister Fantastic goes it alone and whiffs an attack roll on the Blue Car.
Martian Manhunter moves the Blue Car forward (ignoring Rubber Wrap and would be engagements) and hits Invisible Woman with the car. Then he exits and, following the Secret Attack Plan, punches Invisible Woman out. Then he dispatches Black Canary and Robin forward.
Mister Fantastic has Wasp engage Martian Manhunter and move adjacent to the Blue Car. She fails both sting attempts. Mister Fantastic Rubber Wraps Martian Manhunter, but can’t wound him.
Martian Manhunter KOs Wasp, then fails to dispatch anyone.
Mister Fantastic has Thing destroy the Blue Car. He hits it hard, causing 3 wounds more than needed to destroy the car, so Oracle takes 3 wounds and is placed next to Thing. Mister Fantastic finishes off Oracle.
Green Arrow drives the Black Car up and fails a Skill Shot on Mister Fantastic, despite a great D20 roll (19).

Round 3: Initiative Fantastic Four. Thing hits Martian Manhunter for a wound. Mister Fantastic can’t follow up.
Martian Manhunter hits Thing for 3 wounds and dispatches Robin up 4 spaces.
Thing hits Martian Manhunter for a second wound. Mister Fantastic fails to follow up.
Martian Manhunter hits Thing for two wounds and dispatches Black Canary and Robin.
Thing hits Martian Manhunter for three wounds. Human Torch fails a ranged attack on the Black Car. Mister Fantastic KOs Martian Manhunter.
Black Canary advances and screams at Human Torch for a wound. Robin follows and plinks Human Torch for a second.

Round 4: Initiative Fantastic Four. Thing fails an attack on Robin. Human Torch engages Black Canary and hits her for a wound. Black Canary whiffs (second time in a row) against Mister Fantastic and takes a second wound.
Black Canary goes Fists of Fury on Human Torch and takes him down to a life. Cupid’s Arrow from the Black Car finishes Human Torch off. Robin whiffs an attack on Thing.
Thing risks a swipe from Robin, but Robin misses, then Thing engages Black Canary and hits her for a wound. Mister Fantastic fails to finish her off.
Black Canary KOs Thing, Green Arrow aces Skill Shot to hit Mister Fantastic for two quick wounds, and Robin engages Mister Fantastic, but can’t hit him.
Iceman KOs Black Canary with a deep freeze. Mister Fantastic stretch walks away from Robin, then stretches back to swing at him, but Robin flips out of the way and back into engagement with Mister Fantastic.
Green Arrow drives the Black Car into Human Torch, but can’t wound him. Despite the car being adjacent to Human Torch, Green Arrow is not, and is still free to perform non-adjacent attacks (as is Red Arrow), so both Speed Shot and Skill Shot go off here. They both attack Iceman from height, with Red Arrow missing and Green Arrow hitting for two wounds.

Round 5: Initiative Drivers of Prey. Green Arrow backs into Mister Fantastic, but can’t hit him. Speed Shot hits Iceman for a wound, then Skill Shot aces again and finishes Iceman.
Mister Fantastic stretch walks away from Robin and hits the Black Car for one wound.
Green Arrow rams the car into Mister Fantastic for a wound. Speed Shot hits Mister Fantastic for a wound. Green Arrow rolls terribly on Skill Shot, but still finishes Mister Fantastic.
Unit Summary: Efficient auto-wounding, plus efficient figure movement, plus the ability to nullify the effects of engagement is a pretty powerful combination. The VDO rules were fun here but not only do I think the lowering to 4 Life and 5 Defense was a good idea, I’m leaning towards going further to make the occupants of the car more vulnerable. They get a lot of benefits for being in the car, so I favor there being risk. Especially since a sports car should not feel like a tank.

• FIGURE MOVEMENT: Excellent for moving Martian Manhunter up fast with Oracle and Green Arrow and Red Arrow together. The fact that it doesn’t get engaged and that it’s large (and gets around Rubber Wrap) made it a great way to hunt down Invisible Woman.
• FIGURE PROTECTION: Used more for mobility than protection in this match. However, it kept Green Arrow and Red Arrow out of engagement so that their powers could be maximized.
• HIT AND RUN 11: Blue Car (1 of 1) for (1) Wound against (Invisible Woman). Black Car (1 of 3) for (1) Wound against Mister Fantastic.
• WOUNDING OF OCCUPANTS: Oracle takes 3 Wounds from the car’s destruction.
• Damage Taken: Blue Car destroyed near the end of Round 2.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Green Arrow, Red Arrow, and Robin (Dick Grayson) win with Full Life.

Ms. Marvel jumps into the passenger’s seat of the Black Car.

Round 2: Initiative Vigilantes. The Commish advances Batman with Batsignal. Black Canary and Robin both move up.
Cap drives forward. He tosses his shield at Batman, but takes an Evasive Strike.
Batman punches the Blue Car for a wound. Robin is just out of range to be activated.
Ms. Marvel hangs tight and activates Sharon Carter. Sharon takes the wheel of the Black Car.
Black Canary goes. She can’t get in range, but does activate Robin, who hits the Blue Car for a second wound.
Ms. Marvel has Sharon Carter drive them forward in the Black Car, but Batman is too far away to hit and run. Sharon Cater double attacks Batman. He hits her for an Evasive Strike, then his armor absorbs the second shot. Ms. Marvel takes an Evasive Strike from Batman.

Round 3: Initiative Vigilantes. Black Canary moves next to the Blue Car, following the Secret Attack Plan, and destroys it. Wasp is KOed as a result of Black Canary being a wound over and Cap takes a wound. Cap places away from Black Canary, so Cupid’s Arrow doesn’t trigger, but Robin attacks Cap (and can’t hit him).
Captain America goes. He punches Black Canary for two wounds.
Black Canary goes. She hits Cap with her furious fists until he’s down to one life, and Cupid’s Arrow finishes him off. Robin hits the Black Car for a wound.
Ms. Marvel goes. Sharon hits Robin with the car for a wound. She fails both attacks on Black Canary. Ms. Marvel hits Black Canary for a wound.
Black Canary goes. She hits the Black Car for a wound. The car is out of Cupid’s Arrow range, but Robin follows up by putting a second wound on the car.
Ms. Marvel goes. Sharon hits Robin with the car for a second wound. Both she and Ms. Marvel fail to hit Black Canary from height.

Round 4: Initiative Avengers. Ms. Marvel goes. Sharon Cater hits Robin to KO him then Sharon fires at Canary, but can’t KO her. Ms. Marvel KOs Black Canary and Canary’s OMs go to Green Arrow thanks to the Contingency Plan.
Green Arrow goes. Red Arrow’s Speed Shot follows the Secret Attack Plan in hopes of overkilling the Black Car, but instead it hits it for just enough and Ms. Marvel and Sharon Carter come tumbling out. Green Arrow hits Ms. Marvel for a wound, but also takes one from the Best Defense.
Ms. Marvel goes. Sharon Carter and Ms. Marvel each hit Green Arrow for a wound.
Green Arrow goes. Both he and Red Arrow fail to wound Sharon Carter.
Ms. Marvel goes. Sharon Carter disengages and fails two attacks from height on Red Arrow. Ms. Marvel KOs Green Arrow. Batman gets OM3.
Batman goes. He fails to hit Sharon Carter.

Round 5: Initiative Avengers. Sharon Carter disengages from Batman and hits Red Arrow for a wound from height. Ms. Marvel hits Batman for three wounds.
Batman follows the Secret Attack Plan to KO Sharon Carter.

Round 7: Initiative Oracle. She takes wounds from Ms. Marvel as Ms. Marvel kites her, until Oracle finally engages on OM3, follows the Secret Attack Plan, and KOs Ms. Marvel. Oracle goes into Round 8 with one life.

Round 8: Oracle gets initiative, but Beast engages first, from height disadvantage. He rolls 4 skulls and finishes Oracle.

Unit Summary: This one felt pretty close, but the cars had a definite impact. The cars didn’t feel like tanks here, which was great, but had huge utility for movement and were big for the auto-wounds on Robin, which was very handy. I’d say they’re feeling very close to just right and the rules are still shining for me.

• FIGURE MOVEMENT: Great for keeping Ms. Marvel together with another attacker.
• FIGURE PROTECTION: Not a huge deal on this front as the car was easy enough to attack and wound.
• HIT AND RUN 11: Blue Car, never used. Black Car (3 of 3) for (3) Wounds on Robin.
• WOUNDING OF OCCUPANTS: Captain America (1) Wound, Wasp (1) Wound
• Damage Taken: Both destroyed.

Round 1: Initiative Fantastic Four. Mister Fantastic whiffs on his leadership roll and takes the driver seat in the blue car.
Prof X has Jean and Cyclops both move up. Jean fails to throw Prof X up to keep pace with them.
Mister Fantastic rolls only so-so and gets Invisible Woman in the passenger seat of the blue car and drives them forward.
Prof X has Jean advance. She moves and throws Cyclops forward. Cyclops Optic Blasts the blue car. An interesting thing here is that all he has to do is hit one space of the car and his blast affects the car and all figures inside it. The car and Invisible Woman both block, but Mister Fantastic (who is throwing the most defense dice by far) takes a wound.
Mister Fantastic aces his leadership roll. Lady Blackhawk climbs into the driver’s seat of the black car and Iron Man gets into the passenger seat. This takes up their movement for the turn, though, so the car goes nowhere.
Invisible Woman isn’t in attack range and doesn’t want to leave the car, so she stays put. Mister Fantastic rams Cyclops with the car for a wound, then reaches out but can’t hit Cyclops.
Jean rips Mister Fantastic out of the car, but can’t quite get him out of Invisible Woman’s range. She does hit him for throwing damage. Then she fails an attack on the car. Cyclops blasts through the car, all the way to Mister Fantastic. Mister Fantastic takes two more wounds, Invisible Woman takes three, and the Blue Car takes two wounds.


Round 2: Initiative X-Men. Jean and Cyclops tag team again. Jean misses her throw roll and can’t hit Mister Fantastic. Cyclops blasts all three targets again but only hits Invisible Woman, who is KOed.
Mister Fantastic goes and rolls well. Lady Blackhawk drives the Black Car forward (getting an extra space, woot!) and fires but misses Cyclops (who has height). Iron Man’s double attack from the passenger seat takes Cyclops down. Mister Fantastic dodges Psionic Grip to climb back into the Blue Car and hits Jean for two wounds from the driver’s side window.
Prof X has Angel carry him forward. Then Jean rips Lady Blackhawk out of the Black Car (no wound) and she hits the Blue Car with her attack, overkilling it by two wounds and KOing Mister Fantastic as well.
Mister Fantastic had OM2
Prof X has Beast advance. Jean Grey throws Lady Blackhawk for a wound and then hits her from height for a wound.
Lady Blackhawk is Psionic Gripped, so she can’t engage Jean or go back to the car. She fails an attack on Jean.

Round 3: Initiative Fast and Furious Four. Iron Man slides into the driver’s seat of the Black Car, but his double attack from height disadvantage can’t touch Jean.
Prof X has Jean throw Lady Blackhawk into engagement with her, but Jean can’t hit the throw damage or wound Lady Blackhawk (the engagement was probably a mistake!). It wasn’t costly, though, as Beast is now just close enough to engage Lady Blackhawk and KOs her.
Iron Man slips Psionic Grip but can’t hit Jean with the car. He does KO her on his second attack, however.
Prof X has Iceman advance. Iceman blasts the Black Car from full range for one wound. Beast jumps into the passenger seat of the Black Car, but can’t hit Iron Man.
Iron Man, still behind the wheel, drives into Professor X for one wound. When he tries to lean over and blast Beast with his double attack, Professor X uses Psychic Defense X to cancel the turn.
Iceman fails to hit Iron Man through the windshield. Beast hits Iron Man for three wounds.

Round 4: Initiative Iron Man. He fails to ram the car into Prof X. Then his attacks are cancelled by Psychic Defense X.
Iron Man defends like a champ and survives an onslaught from Beast and Iceman.
Iron Man hits Prof X with the Black Car, then KOs Professor X with his double attack, killing the round for the X-Men.
Iron Man hits Iceman with the car and blasts Beast for two wounds.

Round 5: Initiative Iron Man. He hits Iceman with the car for a wound and blasts Beast for two wounds.
Beast Negotiates the “X” off of Iron Man, then Stealth Leaps out of the car (landing safely thanks to Super Strength) and fails an attack on the car itself.
Iron Man KOs Beast with the car, KOs Iceman with his first attack, then misses Angel with his second attack. Beast had OM2 and Iceman had OMX.
Iron Man hits Angel with the car for a wound, then misses both attacks on him.
Angel can’t decide if he’s better off in the car or out. He opts for trying to overkill the car and ends up hitting it for one wound.

Round 6: Initiative Angel. He tries and fails to hit the Black Car again.
Iron Man fails to hit Angel with the car and fails to wound him with his double attacks.
Angel swoops into the Black Car and punches out Iron Man for the win.

Unit Summary: Despite Jean Grey and Cyclops being great counters to what the cars do best here, Iron Man got on a hot streak in end game and started ramming people left and right with the car, then following up with his double attack (very nice) to make it close. Fun game.

• Damage Done (Normal Attack):
• FIGURE MOVEMENT: Speeds up moving pairs together, but slows them down individually a bit.
• FIGURE PROTECTION: Optic Blast scoffs at any protection it provides. Unless going up against an all melee army, protection isn’t really what the car is offering as a partial cover VDO.
• HIT AND RUN 11: (7 for 10) for (1) Wound on Cyclops, (2) Wounds on Beast, (2) Wounds on Prof X, and (2) Wounds on Iceman.
• WOUNDING OF OCCUPANTS: Mister Fantastic takes (1) Wound from the destruction of the Blue Car (would’ve been 2, but he was one away from death).
• Damage Taken: Blue Car destroyed by the end of Round 2.

Who won? List figures remaining in the winning army (include life remaining for heroes): Angel with 3/4 Life wins.

It is die-cast metal and pretty sweet.
Garage doors open and close. Weird thing is there is no roof on the garage but that is easy to modify. Oh and the side wall of the garage is removable.

I think I got this at Mejeir. You may be able to find it at Target as well.

Figures cannot stand on top of the Sports Car, correct? I'm assuming that section is in the rules for the mole machine vehicle.

Say Batman is in a Sports Car. Can Batman attack the Sports Car he is in? (This would probably never happen.)

Nothing in particular jumps to mind, though figures like Invisible Woman and Wasp that can't bit hit from range are useful. I guess just try to 1. Break it and 2. See if it's fun.

Sports cars are partial cover (they have windows) and uncommon. So figures can use clear sight powers through a Sports Car, they just can't engage through it.

If it were full cover (which it's not) your reading on which powers/attacks could be used is correct.

Correct, no specific entrances. That's more for planning for large structures/huge vehicles in the future.

Correct, you start with no one in it. It does start in your start zone, though.

It requires a specific movement to go from the passenger seat to the driver's seat. Just like in real life. Unlike in real life, you can easily do it in a "moving" vehicle, between activations.

We haven't technically ruled on standing on the Sports Car or not, but I'm going to lean towards "no, it's too small." It ultimately depends on the exact figure used. I'm not sure how it was with @tcglkn 's original approach.

Sports cars are never engaged but you can be adjacent to them and you can target them and attack them. Any figure inside the vehicle is considered adjacent to the vehicle. So Batman could attack it, yes.

Wait, what? You've never switched seats with the driver while going 55mph down the road before? I saw Smokey and the Bandit as a kid and they made it look so easy.
