Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Captain America (Steve Rogers)
He is both a Captain, and an America.
.... and apparently the png has a random white box behind it? What mysteries does it hide? My Repaints and Mods: Updated 1-13 My Custom Cards: Updated 4-15 My Custom Superheroes: Updated 1-13 My figure images for online games: Alliance figures, Utgar figures My Etsy Store |

One of the absolute best C3G designs.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Captain America (Steve Rogers)
One of my favorite cards to play. Just all around solid.
Also you posting the PNG showed me that there was some extra white and the Avengers markers looked rough so I went ahead and remade the PNGs here. EDIT: Dang Soundwarp noticed first... Also noticed Wasp didn't even have a clear background so I remade those PNGs as well. |

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Captain America (Steve Rogers)
I love him. One of the best stat boosters we have and bonds well with the (growing) Avengers faction. He's got a solid special attack for some range that often does more damage than I'm expecting, solid base stats, and that shield makes him really tough to put down.
My one reservation on him competitively (and why I haven't ended up running him in Super League at all) is that when you run Cap in an army, you're committing to putting OM1 on him until he dies. I feel like that ends up making you pretty predictable and sometimes making it so you don't consistently activate your best attackers just because you feel like you're wasting Cap if you don't go for that bonus. That particular inefficiency (though having more folks that bond with him helps) keeps him under some of the other more competitive units in the metagame for me. 4/A C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Still a staple, and all beginner C3Ger's should try him out. He can easily pull together any batch of figures into a decent army.

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Captain America (Steve Rogers)
He telegraphs a bit too much for me to really be super into bringing him to something terribly competitive personally. I've won a few tourney games because people where playing him with like Hulk and Thor and stuff and like, I was totally fine with them burning an OM on him to slightly boost already huge stats instead of using those huge stats on turn one.
Star-Lord is a stronger pick for tourneys and such IMO, unless you have some OM shenanigans or whatnot. My Repaints and Mods: Updated 1-13 My Custom Cards: Updated 4-15 My Custom Superheroes: Updated 1-13 My figure images for online games: Alliance figures, Utgar figures My Etsy Store |

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Cap's predictable, but despite that he's a tough opponent. 5 Defense + an autoshield is rough to get through, and Shield Throw gets you both a multi-attack and a special attack which can get around certain defenses.
He's probably my favorite C3G design. You can make a solid army just by grabbing whoever and throwing Cap in there to boost their stats. He's especially good with the Soldier synergy provided by Winter Soldier and Sgt. Rock. |

Re: C3G Strategy Discussion - Captain America (Steve Rogers)
Love this guy, its rare that you build an army where he isn't at least kind of useful. He does take your OM 1 most of the time, which certainly makes you a lot easier to predict. Are there any figures that could reveal the X OM on Cap's card?

Quote:
If you could make him a Mutant or Troubled there would be better fits with Cyclops (Utopian) or The Chief. C3G can be played with official Heroscape, but it's not recommended.

Cap plus Bucky and the Gundam for 600 is pretty strong. I'll happily put order marker number 1 there every time
