4th Mass or 10th regiment
Now that we have seen the 10th regiment's final stats, do you think the redcoats could give the 4th mass a run for their money in a tournament scenario? Both squads work well with the romans so who would you rather have? What do you think are the different strategies where one would be better than the other?

4th Mass in a Valiant Army>Redcoats in a Marcus army>4th Mass in a Marcus army>Either one in a non-Marcus army

Re: 4th Mass or 10th regiment
I apologize if this is the wrong thread to throw this out there. I thought it was relevant at least to the overall comparing and discussing of the two units.
Anyone think there will be a Valiant Leader coming out with "Valiant Influence", something like Parmenio's "Disciplined Influence"? That would allow the 4th to get some additional flexibility, but not quite as much as the 10th Foot. It'd be neat if they introduce a historical figure who led a valiant, but seemingly unwinable war/battle - ex - William Wallace or maybe one of the Civil War generals (which would make lots of 'scapers happy). |

Where is "Red Coats in a Marcus and Old Raelin army"?

Re: 4th Mass or 10th regiment
After reflection, I agree with both PG Slayer and Jexik.
4th Mass. doesn't need help (A+ already). Valiant Influence is a BAD idea. D'oh! |

Hatamoto is good in a Samurai Army. DW7K is good if you can roll high on a d20. While it takes luck, it doesn't make anything less good because they have a low rank on the scale. Just because 4th Mass in A+, doesn't mean they don't need help. ~Elffy~ Last edited by Heroscape Elffy; June 2nd, 2008 at 02:01 PM. Reason: Luck, not situational |

Re: 4th Mass or 10th regiment
I think that if the 4th Mass are defending (i.e., the 10th are marching toward them), they will have a momentary advantage until the 10th reach them, then quickly lose the advantage if they don't kill off the 10th at range (in one turn, barring difficult terrain such as elevations, slippery ice, etc.).
After that, the 10 will have the advantage. If the 4th are the ones who have to advance on the 10th, then the 10th should easily win on average. |
