Re: Help With Wurdz
I see that you looked at my customs. I saw you said that they have a good flavor text or something? Do you think they are card worthy with the way they are worded? Thanks for viewing my thread too.

Re: Help With Wurdz
Well, NUN, all I really do in this thread is make sure you have gud English. I can't really speak for any of the customs projects, by which I mean I can speak occasionally for the C3V, and I can talk about my past experience as an SoV judge, but I won't give you the kind of assessment you're asking for.
I liked them. I will say that the flavorful way in which you wrote out your power text is not particularly canonic. The official units do not have powers written that way, but I find it completely charming and I hope you keep making (at least some of) your customs that way. If you want me to edit for English usage, I'd be glad to have a look. Are they good? Absolutely. I like them. This community owes a debt of gratitude to the craftsmen such as yourself, who make something special and share it with the world. If you'd like me to look over the designs with a more critical eye, I'd be glad to do so in your own design thread. If you want me to pick over your (ab)use of the English language, this is the place. |

I took a lot of the powers from current figures so they should be worded correctly I guess. Thanks, for the positive vibe! |

Re: Help With Wurdz
Spoiler Alert!
Thank you for your help. That sounds much better! Could someone explain to me the rule about when the word "bonding" is supposed to be in the power name? It seems that all squad to hero bonding that I can think of uses the word "bonding" (ex. Unholy Bonding). But this is not the case for hero to squads (ex. Kato Katsuro's Command). Is this true? If so then Call to Arms sounds much better without "bonding" on the end. I only had it there because I had thought it was necessary. If it is, then Capsocrates' suggestion of Berserker Bonding is what I'll go with. Thanks again! And the Lord said unto John, "Come forth and you will receive eternal life." But John came fifth, and won a toaster. My Customs |

Re: Help With Wurdz
It's not necessary. The words "Special Attack" are necessary for a special attack. Bonding is not so, erm, bound to magic words. I like "Call to Arms," as MS originally suggested.

Re: Help With Wurdz
This is an idea I'm toying with for a figure. Not for sure if I worded it properly, but I'm sure I got it close enough for you to get the idea. Thanks!
Heaven sent: instead of moving normally, Michael can move adjacent to any engaged friendly figure within 7 clear sight spaces. Ignore engagements and terrain. |

Re: Help With Wurdz
CA, that is a *great* power to go with Michael Carpenter.
Heaven Sent: Instead of moving Michael normally, you may place Michael adjacent to an engaged, friendly figure within 7 clear sight spaces. When moving with Heaven Sent, if Michael is engaged he takes no leaving engagement attacks.Something like that. I don't try to match things perfectly up to the canon, but I think that is good enough to satisfy most people & avoid weird side effects. |

Sir Valter 4.0?
Hey DS!
Let's try this one on for size: Sir Valter Unique Hero Champion Cruel Medium 5 Life/Move/Range/Attack/Defense 5/4/1/2/4 Staff of Dissolution of Faith: When an enemy figure within 7 clear sight spaces of Sir Valter rolls combat dice, you may choose 1 die for them to reroll. Valkyrie symbols cannot be rerolled in this way. False Faith 2: You may remove the X Order Marker from Valter to subtract 2 from an opponent's d20. Must be decided before any rolling occurs. 80 points I think you can see I need a little bit of help. My customs. NE Ohio Tourney - TBA SW Ohio Tourney - NHSD 550 points AotV - Colliding the minis of AotP with the world of HS. |
