It will be something like this...whether turn markers or just small tokens numbered 1-3. The goal is that your opponent nor you will know each other unless you announce it yourselves, you will know the map - and depending on what you do with army choices....you may want to keep it quiet beyond that till announced. This will take a few minutes extra between rounds of course but hopefully we can still make this move smoothly.

Louisa and I are good to go! The three options sound fun.

As you plan your armies...keep this in mind, I will be trying to balance out the types of terrain to make it as likely to play on a bit of EVERYTHING during the course of the day. And, for this event, all snow will be heavy and all ice will be slippery.

Re: Portland/Vancouver Spring Charity Event APRIL 16th

I'll be there and looks like my usual +2 as well.

With the three supporting cast parts of the armies is it ok to have the same thing in two or all three of them, like using Isamu to round off my points for support #1 and support #3?

#1
Jotun
sonlen
isamu

#2
stingers x 4
su-bak-na

#3
stingers x 4
q.10
isamu

I will edit the initial post to cover this....

The intention is that each of the subsequent components of 400 will be entirely different than the others. The choice for Isamu is not quite such a deal but the two Stinger armies represent the issue. Rather for #3 it would fit the model better to take Drudge x5 & Q10....to cover those pesky swamp maps better.

Good question though, I apologize for the confusion on the matter.

Re: Portland/Vancouver Spring Charity Event APRIL 16th

Awesome! I figured I'd ask because I did'nt know if you were thinking along the same lines as what we had in the Salem tourney in that both armies had to be completely different (which worked out well).I prefer that they all have to be different I think it adds more variety and flavour.

Sidenote: I won't have Jotun in any of my armies regardless of what I put in the previous post , what was I thinking .

You should increase the core to 225 and decrease the options to 375.

That would be interesting...and allow for a lot of different options, but even then there would be other options to open even more choices as well. Though I would be very inclined to take him in that fashion if it were HoB format.....& 10th x5 as the rest.

Re: Portland/Vancouver Spring Charity Event APRIL 16th

Yea I don't know what it is but the big guy always seems to go down hard and fast whether I or an opponent is playing him. It's kinda of funny but another guy that has very similar stats Gilbert being a 6 life/4 def to big Jo's 7 life/4 def, I have the hardest time taking him out, he just is not destroyed without one heck of a fight. Move him up with a bunch of knights or sentinels and I start to squirm even if I have the favorite of the two armies.

The point spread really helps out old Gilbs as well just go-

Q.10/marro w. (core)

knights x 3
Gilbert
Finn

Keep Finn out front early boosting knights and when he goes out dump him on the warriors. Good cleanup crew, solid 3/2 squad-hero combo for all main fighting and a special attack for those pesky rats.
