If Madame Hydra uses Venomous Strikes SA on Captain America, does he still get the auto-shield? I only ask because Cap's Vibranium alloy shield says doesn't reference rolling defense.

When defending against an attack, Captain America always adds one automatic shield to whatever is rolled.

You can only add something to whatever is rolled if something is rolled.

I knew that, but Cap's Vibranium Alloy Shield doesn't reference rolling dice, so I thought that it might interact differently.

It references "defending against an attack," which implies rolling defensive dice and it says "to whatever is rolled," which only makes sense if you roll defensive dice. This one's pretty cut and dry.
