Don't know too much about Etta, but seeing as Trevor got a design I figured it'd be nice to have an Etta design!

After revealing an Order Marker on this card and taking a turn with Etta Candy, if she is within 5 spaces of an enemy figure, you may take a turn with a Unique Amazon Hero you control. You may not take additional turns with other figures you control.

HOLLIDAY GIRLS
Instead of moving normally with Etta, you may move up to 3 Students you control up to 4 spaces each. Instead of attacking normally with Etta, you may attack with up to 3 Students you control.

WONDER SPIRIT
If Etta is within 5 clear sight spaces of a Wonder Woman you control, add 3 to your initiative and 1 to Etta's Attack and Defense numbers.

I'd consider "Citizen" for Etta. Student and Sidekick synergies both strike me as weirder for her and if we're going more "lunchbox" she's portrayed at different ages over time.

I dig the Amazon Ally reuse.

Similar to not feeling Student as a class, I'm not sure Holiday Girls is the best direction for her. I think at that point you probably ignore the first power and just use her as an Order Marker/turn efficiency hub for a Student faction.

That's the list of Students and I imagine it'll eventually build out to be a subfaction of the Mutants. I worry with that take on Holiday Girls she'll be pulled pretty far from Wonder Woman and unintentionally will make Students semi-competitive.

Wonder Spirit I'm more into.

I would consider cutting Holiday Girls and rolling with the first and third power. I think that's probably a good way to avoid the "Emil Hamilton Problem" (where a filler costed figure becomes competitive enough with a secondary power that people ignore its main synergies to use it that way).

@IAmBatman yeah I'd already seen a lot of that, not surprised given the time period sadly. Really want to avoid a lot of that.

Student stuff can be dropped! Holliday Girls seemed like a big part of her backstory, who often fight with her and Wonder Woman, but it is a strong effect. Perhaps Holliday Girls should be represented as a squad or common hero instead.

I forgot that I've been meaning to update my Jocasta design to work with students, since she was a big part of the Avengers Academy, so probably best to steer Etta away from Student regardless where that class ends up.

Etta Candy is a fictional character appearing in DC Comics publications and related media, commonly as the best friend of the superhero Wonder Woman. A spirited, vivacious young woman with a “can do” attitude, Etta first appeared in Sensation Comics #2 (1942), written by Wonder Woman’s creator William Moulton Marston. Enrolled in the fictional Holliday College for Women (and often accompanied by her fellow students, “the Holliday Girls”), Etta would become a constant feature of Wonder Woman’s Golden Age adventures, effectively functioning as both the hero’s plucky sidekick and her best friend in Man’s World. Unapologetically proud of her plus-size figure (and vocal about her love of sweets), “Etta’s appearance was a stark contrast to the svelte, wasp-waisted women depicted in most comic books, and Etta was a brave and heroic leader who was always in the thick of the fight beside her friend Wonder Woman.” Though appearing less frequently in the Silver and Bronze Age, Etta was a recurring presence in Wonder Woman’s supporting cast throughout both periods. Etta Candy was Wonder Woman’s first true friend in man’s world. Though she’s changed a lot over the years, Etta always stands as a representation for the power of sisterhood.

As Jimmy Olsen is to Superman, the bold and brassy Etta Candy is Wonder Woman’s best pal. A boisterous young woman with a lust for life and an appetite for sweets rivaled only by her one for boys, in the Golden Age, Etta Candy was the sheltered Wonder Woman’s guide to many of the Earthly pleasures which man’s world had to offer—and, as head of the always lively Beeta Lambda sorority at Holliday College, Diana’s window into the nature of sisterhood outside of Paradise Island as well. Before long, Etta Candy was fast friends with not only Diana, but her alter ego Wonder Woman, as well. Whenever the Amazon Princess needed a hand, Etta Candy and her “Holliday Girls” were always on the way to help with a “WOO! WOO!” battle cry—all thanks to a special radio of Diana’s design which allowed her to send mental telegrams directly to the Beeta Lambda sorority house.

After Crisis on Infinite Earths, Wonder Woman’s history was largely rewritten. Etta Candy herself was reinvented as Colonel Steve Trevor’s personal aide, love interest, and eventually his wife.

Following Flashpoint, Etta Candy was reinvented once again. Her marriage to Steve Trevor was undone, and she served as a field commander at the metahuman defense agency known as A.R.G.U.S. Etta was once more one of the first friends Diana had made in the modern world. But this time, Commander Candy’s feelings leaned towards another mutual friend of Wonder Woman’s: the brainy, adventurous archaeologist Barbara Ann Minerva. But while Barbara reciprocated Etta’s feelings, their relationship was doomed by Dr. Minerva’s transformation into Wonder Woman’s arch-enemy, the Cheetah.

I'm specifically focusing on the older stuff, where she's a bit more of a hands-on sidekick. The newer stuff is such a different direction that could easily be it's own design.

Yeah I could see Darklings like treatment for Holiday Girls where they are more of an add on to Etta. To be fair, though, I’m pulling more from the newer version of the character with my thoughts.

I’d love to see more Students either way. It’s definitely a more Marvel-centric class at this point, but I don’t think it has to be exclusively so?

For sure. I just don't think being an Order Marker/efficiency hub for Students is the right role in the game for Etta or what we probably want her power level to be at, so having the specific Holiday Girls for her instead of making her the Professor X for Students is probably a cleaner direction.

I think Student is going to be a fairly open class seeing as a lot of My Hero Academia characters will slot into there, as well as maybe Avengers Academy. No idea on DC stuff though. I certainly wouldn't mind Etta working with Students in some way but it's also not essential. The primary thing for her should be Wonder Woman and/or Amazons, in a couple of story lines at least she's been accepted into the Amazons.

Yeah, I think a less powerful synergy tie to Students would work well. I'm just not sure I see her as being the right fit as a key factional piece/leader for them. Though I supposes she's pretty charismatic.

When I get to The Prez, he will have some Student synergy, possible hub.
And he is DC. Plus Boss Smiley needs his rival.
He is probably not too terribly far down the line for me. One of my few designs that has a mini.

Just played Boss Smiley last night. Always a fun time. Came *so* close to blowing up Scandal Savage and Occult Batman, but the bomb eventually diffused itself instead. I did at least Corrupt The Darkness and shut him down for a turn, which was nice, and helped us kill him off the first time (he had a second act when Superboy-Prime broke reality).

Some sort of Student power would be neat. Pretty much all versions of Etta where she's more closely tied to Wonder Woman, she's a student, and is described as being a good, heroic leader. Here's her abilities lists from her Golden Age wiki page:

-Athletics: Etta plays hockey and water polo for Holliday College.
-Aviation: Etta has been trained to fly planes. While the plane she's most often seen piloting is Wonder Woman's Invisible Plane she has also commandeered aircraft to go on missions. By 1947 Etta had her own aircraft to use on missions.
-Driving: Etta is able to drive a variety of vehicles and speed through traffic with ease when there is an emergency. She owns a car and a motorcycle.
-Equestrianism.
-Hand-to-Hand Combat (Basic): Etta is a capable fighter, often lifting and throwing people well over twice her size.
-Leadership: Etta is the founder and leader of the Holliday Girls. She also occasionally leads contingents of Army men in fighting the Nazis.
-Pedagogy: Etta taught English to Prince Sleeko's subjects on his small island nation during her break.
-Tactical Analysis: Etta is quite good at analyzing the situation and coming up with flexible effective plans on the fly.

The art here (which is also likely the mini I'd use, as the one closer to her Golden Age is design is one of the newer minis and quite tall) is a slightly different version to her original design, but judging by the fact she's still the leader of the Holliday Girls and has a lot of similarities to her original design, I'd be inclined to merge the versions together.

EDIT: Looking at the newer mini which is in the Heroic scale, it's actually a pretty great height, standing only slightly taller than the mini used for Jean Grey, so either could be used.
